Sad. RIP.
RIP.
Yes, i forgot to consider the post-mortem boon to the sales of Whitney Houston’s catalogue. She was worth very little when she died. For someone who was such a fixture of 80’s entertainment, she produced surprisingly little work.
You can’t stop someone determined to destroy themselves unless you have a comfortable dungeon and nurse handy
I saw Houston at the old Sweetwaters in 83
On Amsterdam in the 60s
My girlfriend heard she had pipes and of course we all knew her family singers
It wasn’t my musical taste but boy she could sure sing
I found her an attractive light skinned leggy doe like black girl
Not usually my thing either but she was cute and very nervous
One of her first club appearances
I would have never guessed she would go down that dark road
First rumors of free base and later crack
I didn’t believe it
