I did a search for this and didn't see anything. Most of the candidates have some statement of support for McCain on their FB pages with the exception of Jeb, obviously he's been designated to stay above the fray. While Ted doesn't bash Trump in any way, it's still disappointing to see this statement, especially since McCain has been nothing short of ugly to Ted. The FB comments to Ted are not kind.

Trump was responding for an insult.
Not Cruz’s fight

Wow, the Trumpbots will go after Cruz now.
To: usafa92
Oh, come on, what was he supposed to say?
Cruz always demonstrates class and, as another below said, it isn’t his fight.

The Bush family hates McCain. That’s why W. was happy to see him beat by Obama. AND considers Obama a brother.
To: usafa92
Well said Ted. That is why I support you. You are a class act. Senator McCain is a great many bad things, but what Trump said was just plain wrong. When it comes to his military service, no one has the right to bad mouth Captain, U.S. Navy (retired) John McCain.

I don’t fault Cruz for this statement, but I would have edited it thus.
this
“John McCain is an American hero. Although we have some policy disagreements, I’m proud to serve alongside him.”
to this
“John McCain is an American hero. We have many policy disagreements, but I wish him well.”

Cruz is free to have any opinion of McCain he wants. It matters not one iota as long as he remains the Constitutionalist he represents himself as.
Cruz or lose.

I'm happy (but suspicious) that the Men Seeking Men mediums are so interested in what Ted Cruz thinks about Donald Trump's comments.
Do they also care about Cruz's thoughts on taxes? How 'bout ObamaDon'tCare? What about the overall size and scope of government?
Republicans need to figure out that the only time they are going to be able to bust through the All Hillary All The Time news coverage is whenever one of their competitors says or does something controversial.
I would completely sidestep the question and go straight into my stump speech.

Trump also called McCain a “hero because he was captured”. And he’s right.
If McCain had dies in any number of crashes he was the pilot for, or had he not have been captured, McCain would have no ‘legend’ of heroism.
“I prefer heroes that are not captured” means true heroes that give their lives to save others.

What I hate is how the media creates the firestorm. . and now to put out the fire. . everyone has to genuflect to McCain's war hero status. Right now, McCain's war experience is irrelevant. . .what IS relevant. . .and what Trump was focused upon with regard to McLame. . .was McLame's outragious statement referring to 15,000 Arizonians, who attended Trump's event, as "crazies.". .THAT SHOULD BE THE STORY!!!. . but it's not. . .and so. .like lemmings we see our candidates kissing McCain's backside. .while conservatives form the circle firing squad.
I don't care that Trump spoke insensitively about McCain's war record. . .McCain is a jerk!

A diplomatic response by Cruz. Too bad he didn't take the occasion to point out that a lot of the men and womyn Juan McCainez referred to as "crazies" are also American heroes.
Odds are there are at least a few wounded combat veterans who are Trump supporters.

If one ever research McCain military record you would find one of the record of a real jackass. Totally. He wrecked military aircraft because he was a rotten pilot. The only reason he graduated was because of his admiral father. Check it out. This piece of crap is no hero but a real screw up. No wonder he got shot down.
To: usafa92
Disappointing. Cruz should not have let himself get pressured to say something positive about McCain, especially after the “crazies” comment.
To: usafa92
Ted was one of McCain’s designated “whacko birds”, but it is probably best for Ted to let that alone.
