You read that raising the Confederate flag constitutes reconfiguring the confederacy in that thread. I hope you aren’t that stupid.

Arguing “what-ifs” with the liberal confederate bashing crowd here is at FR is pointless. Society has never been static. IF you don’t think sociological mores don’t change with time, then maybe you need a primer on the subject.

First off...I fully defend the right of free expression if someone wants to fly the battle Flag Of the Northern Virgina regement.
Second, your statment was :
“There are no heritage supporting Freepers calling for the reforming of the Confederacy”
Unfortunately in that thread there ARE people openly calling for states to secede again...and defending the right of the confederacy to secede in the first place.
And as you might be able to tell...this is hardly a new debate topic around here.

And honestly those who call for reforming the confederacy are stating in in vented anger, and sure don't agree with the practice of slavery.

I'm not a liberal. And society does change over time, values such as Christian compassion, love of liberty and resistance to evil and tyranny don't.Slavery was evil and it's what the Confederacy went to war to preserve. You need a primer on that bub not me.

Oh I get that completely.
And yes it’s only a handfull here.
None the less the element remains.
That’s why the squishy moderates are bolting or rolling over on the matter like other FR posters.
And the liberals wont be happy with a few snatch and grabs of flags off of private property either.....they wont be happy until mobs show up and burn people out.
For me this is a matter of free expression and Historical preservation and I can easily make that disticntion without supporting the confederacy.....but then again I’m not a squishy moderate.

values such as Christian compassion, love of liberty and resistance to evil and tyranny .So values like having the liberty to honor my ancestors doesn't count? You are so condescendingly hypocritical it makes me want to puke.
I can see you with a shovel digging up old confederate soldiers, Proud of that?

jmacusa has long been a Southern Hating scumbag. Talking with that worthless POS is waste of time.
According to a small minority on FR, you are not allowed to honor your ancestors on both sides of the war. These folks do not understand what it is to be a proud Southerner. Lincoln, Grant, and Sherman were more magnanimous after the war.

I think he is worse than a POS scumbag. He is a pseudo-conservative who would really like to dig up dead confederate soldiers if he had a chance, He expounds everything that is not conservative. ....... including slamming southern heritage which has many elements that are conservative in nature,
The d--weed can go f himself, as far as I am concerned.

From RWN via supported website:
Just for the record:
CONFEDERATE Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines that fought in the Civil War were made U.S. Veterans by Act Of Congress in 1957. Reference U.S. Public Law 85-425, Section 410, Approved 23 May 1958.
This made all CONFEDERATE Army, Navy, Marine Veterans equal to U.S. Veterans. Additionally, under U.S. Public Law 810, approved by Congress on 26 Feb 1929, the War Department was directed to erect headstones, and recognize CONFEDERATE grave sites as U.S. War Grave Sites.
So think of this numbnuts before you want to participate in digging up any CONFEDERATE Soldiers.
