> “We have legacy systems that are very old,” ... I don’t believe anyone is personally responsible.”

Give us more money. No one is responsible. Same crap every time an agency screws up.

If there “IS” a buck - it’ll probably a middle aged white guy named Buck who refuses to kiss Her Magesty’s Mechistanese arse and has “perception” issues socially-engineered into his HR file.

It was probably done by us setting up another false flag for something.

>>Same crap every time an agency screws up.

An agency, or a “progressive”.

She probably looks real progressive on purple/pink Thursdays.

My IT guy has my systems setup so any bulk transfer of data is stopped on it's way out through the routers and/or modems. I can see the router traffic on a popup on my desktop or windows phone. He has a program that watches all the router ports for traffic. Not sure how that would of worked in the OPM case. Can't recall what size transfer is trapped but he tells me it was/is easy to do. We have one system for e-payments where it actually disconnects from outside with a hard relay if an attack is detected beyond the normal net garbage. Takes intervention by one of us to restart.

Our next step will be to store only encrypted data bases that use a scrambling technique to segment the data when stored. That means that you can copy a certain file but it will be disconnected garbage.

We don't do anything well any more and when we really screw up, nobody takes meaningful responsibility nor do they get fired for cause. The Left controls the politics, the media, education, and the culture now. The country is finished. We may as well turn out the lights.

We aren't any different than Mexico or Greece any longer. In a few more years we will be more useless.

"...says the guy who is personally responsible for allowing the Chinese hack."

One can only hope that the NSA is at least as interested in hacking into the Chinese government computer systems as they are in recording all of our phone calls and web site visits. Ha! Who am I kidding?

"Federal personnel chief: ‘I don’t believe anyone is personally responsible’ for Chinese hack..."

Yup, it was a flipping act of God I tell you! That is if there was a God which there isn't. No one could have prevented it. If they could they wouldn't be fit to serve in the U.S. Government. Only those who have risen to their absolute limit of incompetence are fit to serve. Why are you looking at me like that...

Same old same old. Democrats are never held "responsible." Remember this?

"I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY!"

"Resign?! I have NO INTENTION of resigning!"

“It’s an enterprise-wide problem. I don’t believe anyone is personally responsible.”

Start with the Chief Information Officer and work your way up, and down, the list.

Nobody’s responsible for millions of govt records being hacked by Chinese communists. Now let’s get rid of that confederate battle flag.

No one is personally responsible for anything in zero land.

Whoever said it was a good idea to use a contractor relying on Chinese nationals inside China to maintain systems with root level access is:
A. so incompetent they should never be allowed to hold any IT, management or government job again
B. such a traitor they need to hang

Since this decision couldn’t have been made by just one person, there are at least a dozen individuals who should sit in jail or face the death penalty for this digital Pearl Harbor.

With the OPM database and SF86 database, the Chinese have:
* a list of all federal employees present and recently past, titles, personal information
* a list of everyone with security clearance, along with all the information necessary to blackmail them, including foreign employees who have clearance (British, Australian, Canadian allies)

What they can do is:
A. blackmail almost anyone they want with clearance, whether via pressure on a relative or directly threatening to leak information to the person themselves
B. using info on our allies with clearance, leverage them to get information without bothering Americans
C. sell / trade information on military contractors and military personnel overseas to terrorists as desired
D. threaten any military or government personnel in a position of power in a difficult time with total financial ruin via identity theft / tax fraud / leaked info, shaping the outcomes of any conflict
E. do what we want, or we crash your financial system by setting up fake credit cards for every federal employee and defense contractor, locking up FICO and shutting down your databases

In the Obama mal-Adminstration, the buck not only doesn’t stop, it rampages around like a bull-in-china-shop with a chicken-with-its-head-cut-off running around on its back shouting directions at it.
