“Anyone want to bet that he was on Seratonin Inhibitors of some kind....Ridalin......Prozac....Zoloft??”

Even more hardcore - methamphetamine.

The photo in the orange jumpsuit is from earlier this year when he was busted for meth.

I think it’s ok for the president, whoever he is, to make a statement on a shooting at a church where 9 people were killed.

Ridalin (sic) is not a Seratonin (sic) inhibitor.

Also, Ritalin is not a Serotonin inhibitor.

It’s an amphetamine, and while over prescribed, can be a huge help for many people, including the one typing this.

He’s a freak who shot nine people in a church. There are millions of people taking those medications that are not shooting people in churches.

But you seem to be all about the wild tangents, so carry on.

Why no mention of the killers middle name? Could it be because it's on the list of top hippie baby names?

Interesting theory. My first thought was the white supremacist phrase "there's a storm rising," but your theory makes just as much sense.

And neither theory may be accurate, of course. Guys that age are often more influenced by their peer group than by their parents.

This is a sad day. Prayers up for the families of the victims of this misguided maniac. I just can’t imagine the twisted thinking it would take to murder 9 people attending Wednesday night prayer meeting at any church.

It helps me focus and not get distracted by minor things and makes my memory much much better. Instead of looking for things like my keys and wallet that I have put down without thinking about it, or walking out of work with no idea where I parked my car, I know these things and can function like a normal person.

I’m incredibly scatterbrained to the point of it affecting my life, have been this way all my life. It’s good in that I have widely varied interests and in-depth knowledge about a ton of subjects, but not so much in that it makes it hard for me to function in everyday life. If I lived on a boat away from the world, I probably wouldn’t need it. Living with a family and raising kids and having to remember details that otherwise would fly out my head, it’s a godsend.

Is it over prescribed and is it being used to treat what is a normal bouncing around kid in far too many cases? Yes, without a doubt. Can it be of supreme help to some people? Also, yes, without a doubt.

You can feel bad I have to take it. I feel supremely thankful that it’s out there and is available for people whose lives it can improve.
