Carson is a good speaker. Has no one listened to his interviews? He has some insane, naive positions on many issues. Love the guy personally, but some of his positions are off the wall.

Outside of die hard conservative forums TC just doesn’t make all that favorable of an impression. If he did, he would be doing better. His team is competent and he’s more than adequately funded. The campaign strategy is competent as well. That leaves the candidate.

People don’t necessarily pick their favorite candidates based on objective criteria, more often than not its based on soft criteria such as likeability, or someone they can see having a beer with. TC just doesn’t do that well on the soft criteria.

You can find this at his home page at tedcruz.org. Cruz has had more bills pass the Senate than almost any other Senator since he was elected. Cruz just wrote the immigration language that was in the TPA Bill that passed the House. He conferred with Sessions and their language was adopted into the bill.

Tell that to Senator Dewhurst and Governor Perry, and the Texas Republican establishment.

Cruz attended high school at Faith West Academy in Katy, Texas, and later graduated from Second Baptist High School in Houston as valedictorian in 1988. During high school, Cruz participated in a Houston-based group called the Free Market Education Foundation where he learned about free-market economic philosophers such as Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Frédéric Bastiat and Ludwig von Mises. The program was run by Rolland Storey and Cruz entered the program at the age of 13.

Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1992.

While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society’s Debate Panel and won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship. In 1992, he was named U.S. National Speaker of the Year, as well as Team of the Year, with his debate partner, David Panton. Cruz and Panton represented Harvard Law School at the 1995 World Debating Championship, making it to the semi-finals, where they lost to a team from Australia. Princeton’s debate team later named their annual novice championship after Cruz.

Cruz’s senior thesis on the separation of powers, titled “Clipping the Wings of Angels,” draws its inspiration from a passage attributed to President James Madison: “If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.” Cruz argued that the drafters of the Constitution intended to protect the rights of their constituents, and that the last two items in the Bill of Rights offer an explicit stop against an all-powerful state. Cruz wrote: “They simply do so from different directions. The Tenth stops new powers, and the Ninth fortifies all other rights, or non-powers.”

After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree. While at Harvard Law, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review. Referring to Cruz’s time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, “Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant.” At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.

Cruz currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Texas Review of Law and Politics.

Ted Cruz won a land mark decision before the Supreme Court defending the Second Amendment. He has done a lot of legal work for the NRA. You are ridiculous in your assertions!

Did you read the bottom part of my post? I was making up this story to make fun of naps.

If you paid any attention to my posting history, you know that I am on of the Cruz attack dogs against the trolls.

Rad to the bottom, guys...chill out. I am one of you.

I agree. I didn’t get to say what I wanted to say because I had kids screaming to go to bed.

I hate blanket ignorant statements like “Carson has a stellar bio”, when ignoring what Cruz and, for better or worse, Rubio have done as well.

Just relax man. Read all the way to the bottom. Naps has been engaged in bringing him down...but you are right, the post wasn’t great.

Uh, this is a significantly different claim than your previous post which claimed a lot of his authored legislation was signed into law. Passing through the Senate isn't the same as being signed into law.

Looking at Ted's website the only piece signed into law was an amendment allowing the military to give Purple Hearts to the Fort Hood survivors. Ted supposedly sponsored the amendment.

Again, nothing against Ted but you're inflating his legislative success even beyond what his own website does.

That’s a nice CV. It still won’t convince people to vote for him if he rubs them the wrong way.

There was also this bill that was unanimously passed and signed into law. He has sponsored many bills that are still in committee. The point is, he has been a very active member of the Senate, and got this bill passed under Harry reid, who practically shut down the Senate. link to Cruz bill

And when he said prisoners go in straight and come out gay, well, just wow.

Are you saying that there is no precedent for a person turning gay while in prison? I'll get the word out to the gals on Lesbos! :O
