Shoot, I had the prototypes for Beavis and Butthead working with me at a pizza joint back in the early ‘70s. At first I thought they were screwing things up on purpose, but no, they were just incompetent to an astounding degree.

I, like Bill Clinton, feel your pain. Except I had them as bosses at one newspaper I was at. And the entire place was run a lot like Idiocracy with no President Camacho to bring any sense at all.
Example: Editorial meeting.
Management: “The internet is costing us a fortune in advertizing. What do we do?”
Me in 2001/2: “Do what makes sense. Build a site and tie it to the paper. MAke the paper the main story and use the web for it’s strengths. Namely no limited page size to expand on what you have. Then sell ads on the web as an upgrade to your print stuff.”
Management: “No, that will never work. This net stuff is for kids to play games on. We are a newspaper not a video game store.”
Well fortunately for me the Beavis and Butthead I worked with were more of a source of entertainment than pain once I figured out that their screwups weren’t intentional. I just had to keep an eye on them to head off whatever disaster they were heading us into.
