Ted Cruz team looks beyond Iowa, New Hampshire

Ya ever notice the Cruz detractors never have the stones to name their candidates?

Apparently their candidates can’t face scrutiny and they know it.

The only reason Lindsey-girl Graham is in the running is to undercut Ted Cruz in South Carolina. Graham has never met a war or an illegal alien that he doesn't like.

Yep, they are trying HARD to drive a wedge between Cruz and the base on a few cherry picked issues.

All the other candidates besides possibly Walker are RINO’s and are wrong or lying about basically everything.

Those listening to this with a brain, don't fall for this wedge issue drivel, Cruz is as close to a perfect conservative that you will ever see, period.

Besides, Iowa changed 200 times between this time four years ago and Caucus day.

And at least once AFTER caucus day, as Romney was said to have won Iowa, but the final count went to Santorum, who didn't get to fully benefit from his win.

We have to see who drops out or becomes irrelevant. Carson is a good man who is not helping the dynamic. At some point, maybe after New Hampshire, his support is going to go somewhere else.

The Cruz people seem to be factoring in changing schedules and rules, which adds an asterisk to anything about “historically”. Theuy may also be trying to keep the competition and the media off balance.

That is for sure. It really bummed me out when I heard this. I was so hopeful and then disappointed. But seems like being hopeful for a GOP candidate always has a bad ending. I would like to get my donations back.

I'm not going to beat up on Walker but as a governor he has the same advantage as all governors have. They can pick and choose which issues they want to claim as their own from among all the legislation sent to their desk by the legislatures.

Jenny Granholm signed Michigan's concealed carry into law. In front of pro gun crowds she called it her proudest moment. In front of anti gun crowds it became a shameful thing that republicans forced her to do.

Rick Snyder went further on RTW than walker and got credit for it. The truth was that Snyder has been very union friendly and there were concerns that he wouldn't sign it. Fortunately it passed by a veto proof majority and it came in the middle of a feud between Snyder and the unions.

Governors can say anything they want because they don't have a solid record. Ted Cruz on the other hand doesn't get that kind of cover and fortunately isn't trying to tell people what they want to hear for the sake of political expediency. I'd rather vote for a man who honestly tells me a few things I don't want to hear than a man who tells me exactly what I want to hear just to get elected.

When it comes to the full package, Cruz is the best all around deal for conservatives despite a couple of dings. No one else is going to go after the IRS and other agencies as aggressively as he will. I believe he's the only one who will ask his AG pick to take up and pursue the Fast and furious, IRS targeting, and Benghazi investigations.

Reagan did things I didn't love but had I been old enough, he would have gotten my vote over Bush, Anderson, Baker, Connally, Crane, Dole, Stassen, Pressler, or Weicker.

yes, but that wasn’t a poll shift as much as it was a technical count. I mean the polls shifted dramatically many many many times in the final 6-7 months before caucus day.

Cruz IS as close to a perfect conservative as possible.
I knew when he announced that there would be attempts to smear him and along comes TPP and H1B, sure as rain. Well, I decided that I would ignore those bumps. The man uses the Constitution as his touchstone, for Heaven’s sake. It is music to my ears to hear mention of the C word. Not to be smarty pants, but I feel the some of the others in the race have never even read the Constitution!
If Ted is not on the ballot, I write in his name.

From the start, I believed that Linda Graham’s entrance into the race was to try to prevent Ted Cruz from winning the South Carolina primary, hoping that S.C. voters will vote for “favorite son” Graham thereby denying Cruz a win in the first southern state primary.

It will backfire in Graham’s face.

Graham is a stalking horse for Jebbie.

I know thwarting Ted is part of why some estabs pushed Graham into running, but he will also take votes from Jebbie as well....and some from Walker.

Also, don’t confuse wanting to re-elect a long term powerful Senator from your state with wanting that Senator to be President. Those votes do not translate anywhere close to 1 to 1.

Cruz is reaching out to conservatives the GOPe has long considered expendable and I’m damn glad to see it. I know people who don’t bother to vote simply because they feel like the GOP has tossed them aside.

The GOPe strategy has been a miserable failure and they don’t seem to show any signs of giving it up.

There's not much difference between a flood of illegals and a flood of legals.

The illegals take all the entry level jobs and construction jobs and the legals take all the high skilled jobs. American citizens are left in the lurch. Either they learn Spanish and work for peanuts or they find themselves out of work and without prospects.

Ted Cruz is going to lose unless he drops this stupid H1B position. He's losing the base on this issue.

This article is full of crap. It is another piece on how/why Cruz can’t win. Ever notice that the media never gives him much play?

He has a HUGE grassroots network in MANY states. He has a good team in IA. If he loses NH, is that a big deal? There are no Conservatives left.

He has a great game in SC and FLA. These stories are wishful thinking...no other candidate has the campaign or the money he has.
