I was just thinking I should stock up on canvas. Gotta rig the sails on the truck. But before I pull the Big Block out I’m gonna burn the last gallon of Soddy gas that comes to town——with the hammer down getting maybe 5 mpg.

burning anything releases carbon. The EPA won’t like that.

“German Chancellor Angela Merkel says the Group of Seven wealthy democracies have agreed that the world should phase out the use of fossil fuels by the end of this century...”

Whew. Makes me glad we’re a republic; those democracies sure love their unicorns and rainbows, in as much as the socialists

“We may have really long range electric cars as early as 2020 once the new dry-electrode lithium-ion and carbon-nanotube ultracapcitor batteries “

And we’ll be importing the electricity to run them from coal-powered powerplants in Mexico...

“And exactly how would these numbnuts get around the globe with solar and wind powered private jets?”

Oh, they didn’t mean THEM, of course, they meant YOU and your decendants.

They and theirs are IMPORTANT, so they’ll need “Exemptions”

They’re going to replace fossil fuels with natural gas.

Thank Mother Earth for Oil, Natural Gas and Other Fossil Fuels http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidblackmon/2013/04/22/thank-mother-earth-for-oil-natural-gas-and-other-fossil-fuels/ In a choice between Nancy Pelosi and Forbes, I'd choose Forbes From Wiki: Natural gas is a fossil fuel formed when layers of buried plants, gases, and animals are exposed to intense heat and pressure over thousands of years. The energy that the plants originally obtained from the sun is stored in the form of chemical bonds in natural gas. Natural gas is a nonrenewable resource because it cannot be replenished on a human time frame.[2] Natural gas is a hydrocarbon gas mixture consisting primarily of methane, but commonly includes varying amounts of other higher alkanes and sometimes a usually lesser percentage of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and/or hydrogen sulfide.[3] Natural gas is an energy source often used for heating, cooking, and electricity generation. It is also used as fuel for vehicles and as a chemical feedstock in the manufacture of plastics and other commercially important organic chemicals.

"Photoshopped?"

No. You are thinking of a different picture. I saw that one too.

I suspect this pic is real.

What's so wrong with wanting clean air and wanting to be good stewards of God's Earth?

I don't know how conservatives got all twisted around on the environment. I blame the corporations manipulating people to accept pollution for profit.

Conservatives are the hunters, the hikers, the fishermen, the people who most love the outdoors, so why is it all of the sudden a liberal idea to want to keep the environment clean?

Nothing pisses me off more when I am in the woods and I see garbage dumped on the ground, or when I am fishing and see garbage floating by. I just want to set up and ambush the jerks who have no respect for the environment.

And before people get their panties in a wad I'm not talking about the left's love affair with global warming, people use that as a scapegoat. I'm just talking about good old fashion respect for God's green Earth. Back in the good old days before we became a throw away society and people recycled, reused, and gave a damn about the clean air.

Do you think they’ll stop using fossil fuel within 85 years? I’ll be in heaven by then. I’m not sure they gamble there, but I’m betting it’s still the major source of power
