Well, the article did say the police only found one assault weapon, locked in a car, afterwards.

Funny, this is the closest I can find in penal code about illegal weapons. And if you go further above in the chapter, I don't see any definition of 'assault weapon'. Pretty sure they don't exist in Texas.

we find that the only firearms were in vehicles. Did I miss anything?

I do not see any E and E routes
I do not see any sound disrupting audio reflectors
I do not see any elevated positions
I do not see any good angle-offs
I do not see any good B/U targets.
I do not see any through and through victims.
I do not see any good ricochet or over-under traps.
I do see at least two yellow sheet covered bodies that would not be first chosen sniper targets from where they fell.

You also don't see any videos to confirm LEO's story. Or prior arrest records for two thirds of the supposed "scum" arrested and held on $1 million bail. Or anything at all to indicate that anyone but snipers with rifles got the targets.
