Labor unions push for increases in the minimum wage because their rates on federal contracts are tied to the minimum wage. It goes up, they get higher pay. Also, a minimum wage keeps out low-cost competition for jobs.
The minimum wage was never about poorer workers. It was always about helping the unions.

More and more people will end up with a 29/hr work week. That $15 is to help cover up the dismal failure of obamacare destroying 40/hr work week jobs.
