It’s called pain compliance...he dared to question them. Enjoy your police state.
I guess he could have locked it and walked away.
Actively resisting is saying no.
Everyone needs to have one or more personal recording devices on in public. They make good ones with good storage, cheaply now. And when you drive alone you need one because people will blame you for the accident, and you need proof. It’s your evidence.
It’s hard to be green....
The Greenies annoy me also, but that was a bit harsh.
I am going to kick the null into the void.
And get away with it.
Too late...
In LaLa Land they have car charging stations in the parks?
Nothing good ever comes of putting charging stations in parks...........and nothing good ever comes of driving an electric car.
So, electric cars are dangerous.
It is clear it all happened before 11 pm. If they had the evidence to prove otherwise (police records) they would have produced them.
I resist the racist labels, but does anyone believe they would have treated a similarly dressed, similarly groomed white man the same way?
How stupid can a city be? How does charging your car cause a problem? If it does, then sue the damn city for building an attractive nuisance.
No logical person would assume the park closing times would apply to the chargers in the parking lot, obviously in the front of the park (or the city is even dumber than I thought) - even if the signs were clearly displayed.
How can cops be sooooo stupid? They have to know what’s going on, yet they escalate this innocuous situation into a physical confrontation, knocking the guy down, pepper spraying him, and arresting him....all while being videoed on a bystander’s cellphone. I don’t want anyone that stupid washing my windows, let alone patrolling my streets at night with guns in their hands!
This guy should win a settlement big enough to bankrupt Santa Monica. And if he doesn’t, every policeman in the country should sue their asses for putting every patrolman’s life in mortal danger.
This is abject idiocy!
I worked with the police almost every time I went to work for 25 years. Most of them were pretty good people, but I did meet a few who were just this stupid, especially when challenged. I got in conflicts with a couple of these guys while on duty and caused them to go into hissy fits and was threatened with arrest on more than one occasion.
With all of the other crap going on around the country one would think that even the dumb ones would be smart enough not to get themselves into a situation like this. But one would be wrong, because simple stupidity rules the world.
Should have cut the cord and left..../s
Cops enforce the laws.
If you don’t want the park closed then change the law.
If you don’t want anyone to show ID to a cop, change the law.
Your problem is with your elected officials who pass the laws that you don’t like.
It’s up to you to change things instead of finding someone else to blame.
Man, I was 41 seconds too slow!
