Yeah, you can hear the woman across the street look over and say, “Did you record that?”
Still no excuse for destruction of private property. He’s supposed to be a professional with a little thicker skin, but he has absolutely no self-control. Kicking the phone while it was down was a nice touch. He probably also kicks his “suspects” when they’re cuffed and on the ground.
Exactly, they’re no longer trained to be citizen servants and protectors of the public, everyone is “suspect” and a criminal.
It’s fine to tape the police, but she wasn’t just taping. That woman never shut up.
You can tape, but you cannot interfere with what they’re doing.
A while back a state cop went off on my DIL for no reason, yes, she was speeding but she wasn’t arguing or anything. She’s a real sweetheart but she’s a determined person, he was demoted, put on leave and ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment. I don’t know if they made him but he retired. He works at the school and he’s still an a’hole.
A setup? More likely, since these police freakouts are becoming more widely known, she had the woman across the street videoing her just in case what we saw actually took place.
I’m in my 60s, we had a state cop when we were kids and he used to stop all the kids and search for alcohol and take it. He often let them go with a warning.
My husband, boyfriend at the time, always refused to let him search his vehicle and he was always trying to get him. Problem was the judges all knew my husband and suspended all the tickets.
When we were older we found out that the cop was a raging alcoholic and that’s how he got much of his booze. He died of cirrhosis when he was in his 40s.
But then there was another cop, my husband called him Nellie, and he did everything he could to keep my husband and his friends out of trouble. Lots of lectures but he never gave them tickets and they deserved them.
I used to say that many of them aced a’hole school. That was usually about the Border Patrol who used to harass us constantly.
I finally fixed that one day and have never been stopped again and it was because I did take it to the media.
That is encouraging.
If you notice though, the police didn’t do anything as far as policing her related to the law, instead a thug came out of the group and assaulted her and destroyed her property.
If I were filming the cops out in the open, your damn straight I'd try to make sure someone else was documenting it.
I'd also be uploading it to the cloud in realtime if I had the ability.
Poor whites, long hairs during the 60s, people who can’t fight back.
The police deal with volume and easy pickings, that is the working poor, the upper crust they don’t really like to have to mess with because they fight back, and if a department starts throwing many of them in jail like they do the poor, then all hell would break loose and lawyers and lawsuits, and in time politics would start coming down on the department.
What about doing so while wearing several deadly weapons and a badge that represent the authority of the people?
I think we are into felony civil rights violations here.
...but I’m just a serf.
...and.....from a que from one of the other jackboots, he physically grabbed her hands, stole her property from her, and destroyed it.
Then walks away like he knows she cant do anything about it.
Just like the Gentle Giant steeling Shwisher Sweets to make blunts, he knew he could get away with it.
In which case we should thank her for exposing a thug!
Good on them for exposing a thug!
Shuddup. Go lick a thug badge somewhere else. We put our trust in these people who wear the badge to be able to take a bit more than your average joe; problem is thugs are now wearing the shield and making life miserable for good LEO's out there. I guess it will be okay for you to get assaulted at your next fast food stop right? I mean, those folks don't deal with assholes ever; right?
I watched the series finale for Justified last week. Gonna miss that back and forth between Raylan and Boyd. BTW, Facebook wanted to know my hometown so I put down Harlan, Kentucky, just for the hell of it.
Those who are so immature that they take someone's "being an obnoxious ass" personally and cannot control themselves even to prevent doing violence/assault, do not belong in a profession where they carry weapons and have to deal with obnoxious asses. Mature, well-balanced, adults can control themselves and do not become thugs at the flash of a phone camera...
Agreed. The dialog was exceptional.
Add good acting & an interesting storyline and you get a winner...every time.
Sadly, I suspect you’re right.
