People outside of AR don’t know that the Hutchinsons have a little machine greater than what Bill and Hillary concocted. There was “Tall” Tim in the U.S. House and Senate and first wife Donna in the state House. There is Gov. Asa and Asa and Tim’s brother-in-law, Kim Hendren, a state Senator, state House member, then back to the Senate, then back to the House member. And Kim’s son Jim, Asa’s nephew, is the Senate Republican Majority Leader in AR. Tim’s two sons by Donna have served in the House and one is still in the Senate, was just elected in 2014 with Asa but in his case without opposition. And TX had just two “Hutchisons”, only one of whom was known nationally.
Also Asa and Tim are I believe Bob Jones University graduates.
“Its time to put a leash on these corporate entities - the question is how.”
This is why I’m opposed to giving corporations rights. They have too much influence as it is. Just shut up and sell your junk.
Things are about to get ugly for Christians. There needs to be a movement to start a Christian barter service because Satan and his followers won’t hesitate to starve us or worse until we comply. “The government made me do it” has never been an excuse to “bow to Baal”. It probably isn’t in this day and age either. Choose; God or mammon.
You both make great points, IMO. I certainly don't know what the answer is myself. I do know while freedom and free enterprise has lifted the world up, meddling of global corporations in legislative processes, elections and etc., has/is having a very negative impact; both here in this country and around the world.
Mega-corps and the power they wield is one of the major problems "we the people" must confront.
Make a grocery list for one week. Then go write down every price at Walmart. Then go to the competitors and write down the prices for the same items. You’ll find the only thing Walmart is cheaper on are the sales items. They more than make up for it on the non sale items.
Believe me. I’ve done this. I’ve compared HEB, Kroger and Randall’s. Walmart is the highest of them all.
