See - he could have married his son right before he died.
I think most insurance can pass via “domestic partnership” now.
But pensions can pass via marriage as can SSN and veteran benefits. If I marry a combat vet, I can get decent benefits for nursing home care which comes in handy now that LTC insurance is disappearing.
Against the law in the US....for now
Oh man that is funny.
Thanks for the literal laugh out loud.
I mean in the future. How will the courts justify one man marrying another, but not men that are relatives? There is no threat of birth defects etc.
They can’t justify it just like they can’t avoid polygamy becoming legal.
Polygamy is already a factor on college campuses where foreign professors have multiple wives.
I did one better. I ain’t getting married. Who the hell would.
Right after Georgia allowed 'domestic partnerships' and mandated that insurance be allowed for those partners, I toddled right into the HR office, and demanded my live-in girlfriend be covered under 'domestic partnership'.
The HR chick was like, "I don't think this is meant for that....I think this is meant for homosexual or lesbian couples...."
I responded, "Please point out in the legislation where the words "homosexual", "lesbian", "gay", or "same sex" is used. You won't find it. What you WILL find is the phrase "domestic partner". That's what my girlfriend is. Cover us or be sued."
My gal got her coverage.
Hmm..
If a person was separated from his wife and covering her insurance, I wonder if he could also cover his “domestic partner” as well.
I proved heteros can be covered under Domestic Partner laws.
I don’t get it either. The DOJ is going to come after us next in court to force us to start the gay marriages. Its sickening. Our state legislatures are overwhelmingly GOPe. That’s the problem up and including Nathan Deal who is the biggest Federal dollar Hoe I have ever seen.
