It does sound pretty irresponsible. In my neighborhood we have special pickup days for grenades, land mines, shaped-charge devices, and anything larger than 105mm. Tuesdays, I believe. And for Petessake, they need to be properly bagged.

If you read the article, the government is starting with gun control and confiscation. Not time to throw in the trash, time for a boating accident or at least burying the weapons. Based on history, I would not disarm there.
