When it comes to politics I am a cynical sarcastic bastard and I know it. I was made that way by the so called Republican Party. You know the "conservative" party. Well Reagan was an anomaly, a fluke and Bush 41 tried to reverse his legacy.

Well I trust no one. Not Cruz or anyone else. They are all squishes. They all have problems and amnesty and H-1b are non negotiable. The Ra Ra Ra hurray for our side BS has been wrung out of me.

There is no candidate that is perfect despite what some in here think. Even Jesus wouldn’t be perfect to them

“I like Cruz a lot. Let’s be clear. He has stood and fought the hard Left as well as the soft left. But, being in a minority of the minority, he has not been able to accomplish anything beyond rhetoric.

Let’s keep Ted in the Senate where he can now give MM constant and unvarnished hell and force the Kentucky Tool to tie his own success to concessions to the Conservative agenda, so ably championed by Cruz.

Plus the idea of a newly elected Senator abandoning his office in his first term just seems wrong to me.”

Am I on a Palin thread by mistake? LOL! Deja Vu

I appreciate Walker and your expansive post and fleshing-out.

I’m just saying, we already have perfect in Cruz, why retrogress? We know exactly where the Cruz jet is taking us, with Walker we have to search around to quell our fears that he hasn’t filed a complete flight plan.

Time is of the essence. There are huge broken things to fix, and we need execution, not exploration.

Look Wisconsin is so far left that a moderate like Walker appears to be a hard right winger. No amnesty - ever.

I don’t believe so either. Walker-Cruz are so much better

Isn't Slate a liberal rag? I would take anything from a liarberal rag with a grain of salt

BTW no misspelling or typo on the word liarberal

“Walker could not have accomplished the reforms that he did had his party not been in control of the legislature. “

Neither could have Obama.

Gridlock is not a entirely a bad thing and there is a reason why our founders put checks and balances in our Constitution. We have a two-party system for a good reason. Our founders didn’t want to make it easy to pass laws. They wanted it to be difficult and a slow process.

I find Walker’s comments to be disturbing especially the part about checks and balances. Maybe a meeting with Dr. Larry Arnn from Hillsdale College would be of benefit.

I can understand that having a majority in the WI legislature made things a whole lot easier for him and I’m not saying that I haven’t felt grateful for it. But I wasn’t so happy about it when the dems had the majority. They can do much damage to our country as we have seen.

“It’s all is about the 11 million [undocumented immigrants],” Walker said. “You hear some people talk about border security and a wall and all that. To me, I don’t know that you need any of that if you had a better, saner way to let people into the country in the first place.”

Walker added: “If people want to come here and work hard in this country, I don’t care if you come from Mexico or Canada or Ireland or Germany or South Africa or anywhere else. I want them

“I thought WI was a one party Blue state?”

It’s a blue state. It delivered WI to Obama both times.

It’s all red until the vote tallies and voter fraud comes in from Madison and Milwaukee.

Walker won the 2 general elections because of weak dem candidates and dem infighting. The recall was won because the gimmedats stayed home. They didn’t have a horse in that race. I’m in Wisconsin. Voted for him as governor. But, he is GOPe. And this Rush love fest is getting old.

I thought the statehouse was governed by Republicans?

Were they sent there in spite of Walkers positions?

Yes. The Repubs have the majority. That is why the legislature wants to move forward on Right To Work, Common Core and other issues. They have told Walker they have the votes for RTW but Walker said that it is a “distraction” right now.

His focus has changed now that he is running for POTUS.

It doesn’t make sense does it that WI elects a Repub governor and takes the majority in the Legislature and hands over the state votes to Obama. Crazy isn’t it? Lots of voter fraud and out-of-state license plates on election day. Keep in mind that we didn’t have any vote ID at the time.

How do the state votes get handed to Obama?

It would seem that the Legislature would have a big say in that too? Was there some sort of corruption going on between them and the Gov to cast all those votes for Obama?

You took me too literally. When I said WI “handed over” the state to Obama I’m saying that they seemed to have walked into the voting booth and voted for Walker for gov and then Obama for prez. They split their ticket. As a result Obama won the state of WI and the electoral votes went to him.

A Rep., Ron Johnson also beat long-time dem encumbant Russ Feingold. Go figure. People have different explanations for what happened. I don’t anyone has accused the gov or the legislature of being in some kind of conspiracy. It’s been very easy for voters to cheat in the state for a long time. And boy, you should see what goes on here on election day.
