Can’t or won’t speak English? I used to work for a jobs program and you’d be surprised at how many could speak fluent English come Friday around noon when they’d start calling wanting their paychecks which they knew they couldn’t get until 5 pm.
You can’t understand them because it’s a scam they play at. A ridiculously silly little scam but it works because then they can claim they didn’t understand that you the edging done when they mowed. Funny how they can make you understand they want full pay though.
“They pay rent”. Yeah but 120 people living in the same 2 bedroom house doesn’t really bring in a lot of rental dollars and it’s kind of hard on the house.
Tacos and burritos aren’t hard to make yourself. They’re a lot cheaper to make than the cost of all the freebies. Just finished off the leftovers of some mighty fine enchiladas this gringo made.
Less innocent, hardworking people would be killed. More jobs would open up. Fewer welfare recipients....how could any of that be bad?
*Fewer innocent
Its just as true today as it was then. There is no negative to getting rid of all the illegals.
We have numerous guest worker programs for the ones who come here to pick crops and then go back home til next year. In fact about 70% of farmworkers are US citizens. Most people think they are all illegals.
Illegals do nothing to enrich our society as the ones who come are not the educated, skilled middle and upper classes. Most are not even families. Its the poorest of the poor and illiterate young males.
The only people who want illegals here are the big corporations who want cheap labor and the Democrat/Communist party who want more slaves on the plantation to vote Democrat.
I would Build a good fence/ / barrier at the boarder. Then I would offer a 12 or 24 month period where voluntary returns would be paid to return home. After that bounties would be paid for the capture of illegals or those that protect them. The fine for renting, employing or other support would pay the cost. Honest and legal immigration based on the countries needs would be instituted. Just a thought granted i haven’t thought it through much. Just off the cuff thoughts.
Yes you’re correct; the a fair wage or let the leaves blow. That’s a zero value added occupation anyway.
Basic Economic Fallacy Alert!
People make society as a whole POORER by buying things. It is what people PRODUCE that makes society richer. When people are buying stuff with money they got from welfare, then their presence in society is, in economic terms, a pure liability.
Although many illegal aliens work, they are, on the whole, a liability.
Therefore, if they were all deported, America as a whole would be instantly richer.
When you factor in crime as an economic cost of their presence, then their deportation would increase the general level of wealth even more.
We would sell more of the goods overseas and pay Americans more attractive labor for the Services at home.
It is the demand that makes the production make sense. Nobody makes doo wop kumquats because nobody is using (consuming) them. We have to have a balance between them to make an economy go. There is nothing wrong with charity qua charity to people who desire to do something good inasfar as it lies within their capability, and it may have escaped them for a time.
I cant help but wonder how much money we would make puting a tax on money exports. I bet you we could even sell the idea to the Democrats as fighting money being sent overseas.
Savings in entitlement spending? 20 million citizens can get jobs?
the numbers I heard regarding the total dollars wired to Mexico ..South and Central America...were staggering. U cant offhand quote the numbers but I imagine that Western Union has made a FEW dollars processing those transfers.
ah here we are:
Remittances flows to Latin America and the Caribbean remain stable at $61bn
http://www.iadb.org/en/news/news-releases/2013-04-29/2012-latin-america-remittance-flows,10432.html
that figure is from 2012
A small tax...[ fat chance] on 61 Billion Dollars should by a few cups of coffee
