We are so devoid of intelligence in my administration that it's going to take us a whole year ... at least ... to figure out some way to execute convicted murderers!

Lead is a good cheap effective drug. So is sisal or hemp.

I remember reading of an execution of a soldier at Fort Laramie back in the 1850s.

A tall pole was set up with a long crossbar much like a tetter totter.
Heavy weights were tied to one end of the crossbar, and supported, the condemned soldier had a noose around his neck on the other end.
When the support holding up the weighted end was removed the weighted end dropped, flipping the condemned man like a bullwhip and breaking his neck.
