The Palestinian Mandate was supposed to establish a homeland for the Jewish people in the same land that they originally occupied, prior to Rome enslaving an dispersing them among the nations. That land was desolate, with very few people living in it.
Only after the Jewish settlers (known as Palestinians to the world..all others in the area known as Arabs) started draining the swamps, irrigating the land, and building it up, did many Arabs from the surrounding countries move into the area. Read “Innocents Abroad” by Mark Twain (Samuel Clemons) to discover how decimated the land was in the 19th century. The majority of people living in Jerusalem were Jewish. The Dome of the Rock was in disrepair.
Jewish people have been living in what is Israel and the “West Bank” since 1,000 BC, or a total of 3,000 years. It is the “Arabs” (People who dominate Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Bosnia, Afghanistan etc.) who invaded the area and forced the inhabitants to convert and/or submit to Sharia Law.
Jewish people have continually made attempts to return, some successful, some denied. Only the latest move, started during the 19th century (1800’s) brought success.
“Invaded the area and forced the inhabitants to convert and/or submit to Sharia Law,” sound very familiar, doesn't it.
In the Muslim view Spain, Portugal,part of France, Hungry, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, large sections of India, and large sections of Russia belong to the Muslim Empire and must be reconquered from the occupiers.
So, in the Muslim view those who live in the above areas are occupiers, and must convert, submit, or die.
