"According to the ruling, Cow Palace has 11,000 cows that create more than 100 million gallons of manure annually."

They mean to shut down all growing of foods except Monsanto Frankenfoods - which are patented - (Monsanto: hitched t the hip with DC)

“He who controls the food, controls the people.” (Age old mantra of Despots.)

SAve up your non-hybrid seeds - and dessicated manure.

They are shutting down small farms and back yard/front yard gardens, making it a crime to collect rainwater off your roof -

Prepare and provide...fill your lamps and trim your wicks - long dark nights could be coming.

Went to a high tech diary a few times with my sons’ Boy Scout troup.

The place was amazing. I had spent many summers working on my Uncle’s diary growing up and to see their operation was fascinating to me.

The pains they went thru to prevent “nutrient-rich runoff” (manure) was extraordinary.

We ain’t seen nothing yet!!

We are still going through judges appointed by Clinton and Bush with this kind of Bullshit.

Wait till the second wave ten years from now when judges appointed by Obama start coming out.

Ain’t it lovely being ruled by people who think their food comes from the grocery store?

A small family dairy in my area was recently fined $75,000 when the rain washed some cow poop into a nearby river.

Actually, isn’t there a microbial ecosystem in each pile of dung that needs to be protected?

Obama's EPA is going after methane from cow farts and now the manure spread on the pastures to enhance hay growth. Every livestock business does this. What do these environmentalists, lawyers and morons in government think they should do with this manure? Beef, chicken, fish and egg prices are already at historic highs. More regulations will drive these commodity prices through the roof.

My wife and I raise beef cattle but don't have a manure problem because we have a small herd of 20 on 25 acres. But the dairy next door to us collects their manure from the barn floors and dumps into lined pits where they mix it with water to make it soluble. They pump it into a tanker trunk and spread in over their hay pastures to fertilize their hay grass to increase the yield. They have 700 cows and it takes a lot of hay to feed them. Their ground water is tested regularly for seepage and contamination and have had no problems. Our well is tested by them too for adjacent contamination because they fertilize our hay pastures too. Manure is a by-product of any livestock business. People buy it for fertilizer for their gardens, lawns and flower beds.

To those who think the scope of the ruling is a good idea-

The problem with this ruling is like all other socialist regulations- it punishes even those who are not causing any problems. Solving an issue does not mean everyone should be punished. It is like killing a fly with a snow shovel.

Remember- Give a mouse a cookie, and it will ask for a glass of milk... Rules and regulations mutate in the same way.

At some point, common sense needs to be reintroduced into society, or we will all be regulated to death.

Yep, my organically-grown veggies, grain and tobacco have soil enhanced by all the poop my chickens produce, copiously. Laughing....

Mistake. There’s plenty of state and local laws without having to have the Feds to invoke RCRA.

Around these parts, some farmers inject liquid manure via a modified chisel plow. Seems to work well. There have been three instances in the past 4-5 years of farmers spreading liquid manure on frozen ground and the manure running off and then fouling wells. No excuse for spreading on frozen ground like that if there are residences nearby.

But the farms did the right thing and in one case paid to have a municipal water line extended and the water bills paid for the homeowners for a period of 5-7 years or thereabouts.
