Salma... and she does have great boobs. Whatever happened to her? Jogged w/o a support bra - the inevitable happened and the rest is history.

I was glad to see the Polish movie “Ida” nominated for Best Foreign Picture. Very good movie, and it’s on Netflix.

Why was Clint Eastwood snubbed for Best Director?
I can assure you THAT was political.

The good movies make lots of money. The garbage movies get Oscars.

With all due respect who gives a shit about the OscarsYep, I'm with you. It's not as if they're something important, like the Daytime Emmy awards. /S
To: SoFloFreeper
“Selma” is not a major motion picture. It is a piece of agitation propaganda.

It’s not fair. If a person has black skin, he must be celebrated for everything he does...even more so if it involves slavery, the “black experience”, etc. /S

That’s a great dress (and I know you’re thinking, “what dress?”).

Not to worry ... I see the dress, or whatever it is. Can’t really tell what’s below the waist. It’s perfectly fitted (filled, but not spilling out), and she has the right figure to pull it off.

They upped it a couple of years ago.
There is so much money connected to the Best picture nod that “good, but not good enough” movies were getting left in the cold.
The crappy “add ons” are pretty obvious.

“Driving Miss Daisy” won Best Picture and didn’t get a Best Director nomination. Rare, but it happens.

The Academy increased the number of Best Picture nominations for one reason: increase viewership for the Oscar telecast, which funds Academy operations for the entire year.
When there are “throwaway” noms with no real chance of winning, hugely popular films like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings can get nods so that lots more young people will watch the telecast. People who actually go to movies.
