A lot of them left for the US years ago.....and with the way the national health service has worked the docs retired and not many went to medical school....just like what will happen (and is happening ) here in the US

I read the stories of the atrocious care at the local hospitals and the docs are almost always listed and their origin is listed as well....And I don’t really care what the mealy mouthed wonkers think of the term Paki

I spent enough time in Great Britain that I know first hand people’s run ins with the NHS so please don’t bother

The NHS is as one Briton famously said, the nearest thing we have to a post-ww2 state religion. Far from hate, most Britons very much support it (though not blind to its faults).

My point was only that many a smart kid may have looked at the poor, overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated physicians and decided, instead, to become, e.g., a realtor.

In the Soviet Union, physicians didn't rank very high in public esteem. Seems to go hand-in-hand with Socialized Medicine.
