Frickin nat gas is at $2.70 today, per million cubic feet.

Combined cycle converts this at 50% efficiency to electricity.

Can you say $0.02 per KWH, wholesale?

This is why this windmill thing is dead.

Plus, take a look at western Iowa. They took rolling hills of whistling crops and turned it into a Disneyesque mechanical ride view.

Interesting numbers, thanks.
Of course “big wind” is crony capitalism, and regime affiliates...

It will be rescued. Some nice free money will come along.

Guaranteed it will be rescued and someone will get their wallet filled. These projects never end.

Democrats ruled the House of Representatives for 40 years, 1954-1994. In 2008, Democrats captured the Congress and the Presidency. I predicted the Democrats will loot the Treasury. “Renewable power” was the game.
Everybody knew it wouldn’t work.
It’s weird - with so many companies going belly-up, you would think now that solar panels should be cheaper than linoleum squares.
As far as New England electricity costs, every plumber knows that water doesn’t go uphill and Thursday’s payday!
There’s so much water going downhill in New England that it should have the cheapest electricity in the nation.

Which part of it would be the great part?

Don't be so hard on me. There's knowledge that I have now which I didn't have then. At the time, the generation costs were hidden, but it was reasonable to assume they'd be lower than on shore. Sure, maintenance would be higher, but off shore, the wind is always blowing--it's almost never calm--so it seemed it might be reasonable.

The problem is that the costs, both upfront, and estimated generation, were hidden from the public while the project was being debated.

Wish that was happening in Osage Co., Oklahoma.....

Seems like it's full steam ahead....Making some of the last open prairie look like hell.

Killing bald eagles...with an okay from Washington. Killing raptors..and other migratory birds and bats with the full support and power of the Fed's.

It's a damn shame...........

Let’s see what happens to you or me if we were to pop an eagle. Or in the case of a former “ass”tronaut and current anit-gun person, your daughter’s dog kills a baby seal in California with said “ass”tronaut in attendance. Must be nice to some sort of elite huh?
