Why would boehner have a complaint about a Democrat Machine. He is arguably a cog in the big Democrat Machine.

I have heard Duke speak on several occasions, perhaps C-Span, and you are right. Even a libtard reading the transcript, without knowing who was speaking would have found nothing more objectionable than the usual D-R policy differences. He disguised his racism well.

“in 1991, 60 % of the whites in Louisiana voted for him. Made me not want to go there for quite some time.”

When I see the people white New Yorkers vote for in every election, it makes me not want to go there for quite some time.

The true version is that the same man organized both events.

Do you think the word was not passed when it was the same guy?

Nope, Scalise was Boehner’s pick and shows Boehner is not wise in his choice of leaders, and it makes him vulnerable all through his tenure as Speaker.

Slate did not find that out.

The truth is that the same man set up both events...at different times, but in the exact same location and that members of the kkk group attended the first event.

My impression was that all we have is Scalise attending a troublesome event, knowing it was troublesome, and constructing plausible deniability ahead of time.

Dear Mr. Scalise,

Change your R to D join the KKK as a grand dragon and you’ll become a very powerful democrat leader.

Opie

I believe you have it right.

Scalise has to go. Boehner has to go.

Independently of this, Boehner needs to go, and Scalise for supporting Boehner. With this as icing on the cake, they both need to go times ten.

I’m truly surprised at the Freepers who are not seeing that it’s the same guy who organized both events, only hours apart, at the same location, and with kkk at the later meeting in attendance at the first meeting.

And...the organizer was Scalise’s good friend, regular companion, and neighbor.

I simply do not buy that Scalise was unaware.

This is an opportunity to demonstrate how terrible Boehner will be able to perform over the next 2 years, and conservatives should make clear he has shot himself and been rendered ineffective. (If ever he had been rendered effective.)

So what is it that Duke and this ERUO group is advocating for?

Duke is a former grand wizard of the KKK.

Scalise needs to go not because of this but because he supports Bohner. Also, To attack a Congressman for an alleged acquaintance with David Duke, or the inconsequential organization the KKK has become, is petty. At this meeting if he did address it, there were probably more undercover FBI agents than KKK.

“The Jewish question” is exactly the language Adolf Hitler used in a chapter of his Nazi manifesto “Mein Kampf.”

Obviously by this point in history, that phrase ought to have set off some alarm bells, but it was quite common some decades back and Hitler wasn't the only person to use the phrase, nor was it restricted to anti-Semites.

Your 61% number is wrong, see below. Also I found amusing the following bumper sticker that was on many cars in Louisiana at the time David Duke was running against convicted Democrat felon Edwin Edwards, it was as follows:VOTE FOR THE CROOK, IT IS IMPORTANT! Most of those bumper stickers were on the cars of Republicans.

Despite repudiation by the Republican Party,[65] Duke ran for governor of Louisiana in 1991. In the primary, Duke finished second to former governor Edwin W. Edwards in votes; thus, he faced Edwards in a runoff. In the initial round, Duke received 32 percent of the vote. Incumbent Governor Buddy Roemer, who had switched from the Democratic to Republican parties during his term, came in third with 27 percent of the vote. Duke effectively killed Roemer's bid for re-election. While Duke had a sizable core constituency of devoted supporters, many voted for him as a "protest vote" to register dissatisfaction with Louisiana's establishment politicians. During the campaign, Duke said he was the spokesman for the "white majority"[66] and, according to the New York Times, "equated the extermination of Jews in Nazi Germany with affirmative action programs in the United States."[67]

Too complicated. More likely a time- and money-saving event for his neighbor and some of the attendees. I think we're making way too much of this. We have actual communists in political office (deBlasio, a large number of Democrats and the entire Congressional Black Caucus), and we're worried about a peripheral association Scalise had with his neighbor's hobbyhorse? While we may not want to adopt the conservative equivalent of the left's "no enemies to the left (of us)", engaging in a witch hunt over something like this is excessive.

I’m truly surprised at how desperate some people are to smear Steve Scalise and John Boehner.

It is not smearing to say that he was at a pre-event to a kkk get-together organized by his own friend and neighbor.

If that is a fact, then stating that fact is no more than mentioning that the sun comes up in the morning.

Liberals lie about everything, then insist their lies are true just because they keep repeating them.
