When I was in Jersey City , a cop was responding and pulling up to scene of a robbery at a drug store.
The 'perp' was outside the drug store ran up to the patrol car and shot the police officer in the head through the passenger window.
Other cops arriving at the scene shot and killed the perp.
Last I heard the perp was connected to a gang in Philadelphia and police were concerned over possible 'reprisal' assaults and murders on police.
Seems like there is a movement in some communities to kill police; DeBlasio's comments haven't helped much !
Even if you don't like police, imagine what your daily city travels would be with no police protection ..

Apparently the perp is dead.

That's too bad, Obama will not be able to invite him to the White House to present him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Perhaps he will make the award to his parents provided that DNA analysis can identify whom they might be.
