This Dec 1st article? Old news.

It's no "MYTH" that Dingy Harry has been planning to, or at least been making noises about, bringing up all those stalled nominations before this Lame Duck is decapitated, defeathered, deboweled and devoured for Christmas Dinner.

But planning and wishing and hoping that he'd have time to do ALL of it, is a different thing than actually executing his plans.

Time has almost run out for this lamest of ducks, and whether or not Harry really would have gotten 100% of everything on his Christmas Wish List done is/was an open question.

Harry's been the only one claiming there'd be time to have all of his cakes and eat all of them too. .... Well, OK, I did find one other source agreeing with Harry: Breitbart yesterday states that unnamed "high-ranking Senate sources" have also said that Harry was planning to do these nominations before Christmas. Anonymous source? Big whoopdeedoo.

OTOH, certainly a lot of GOP Senators have made no secret that they've been crossing their fingers that he wouldn't get it all done.

But Cruz/Lee's refusal to join Friday's 98-2 Unanimous Consent motion to adjourn 'til Monday, which resulted in the Saturday session, which in turn added plenty of extra time for the stinko Nominations to be re-raised from the dead, made it a certainty those nominees would be rammed through.

Look at senate.gov for yesterday's doings and you'll see that ICE-Queen-To-Be Saldana and a dozen other Obama picks all got thru the next nomination phase of "Motion to Proceed to Executive Session" on Saturday.

We'll never know for certain whether *without the extra day* Hairy Weed would have had the time and the necessary support of all of those weepy lame ducks drowned in November's tidal wave who know their political careers are deep-sixed and might be tempted to think, "What the Hell? It's all over in a few days anyway, but I'm supposed to stay here and miss Christmas with my family because Harry thinks I *owe* him?"

So once again, as I've said from the beginning, it's ironic that in order to make a symbolic gesture against Shamnesty IV or V or IX or XIII or whatever Obama's latest iteration of Shamnesty is, Cruz & Lee have guaranteed that Reid got the time he needed to install as the new Immigration Czar an Obama lapdog - Sarah Saldana - who lately has been absolutely gushing over how wonderful - not to mention entirely legal - are The One's latest Royal Proclamations of New Immigration Laws.

Her nomination process started *ages* ago (August?), yet still has not gotten all the way through the Nomination Gauntlet, with only mere hours left in the last gasp of Harry's And Nancy's Gilded Age.

Yet you're willing to take the word of Harry Reid (!) and some anonymous "high ranking Senate source" that regardless of the Saturday session, these nominations would have certainly had time to get through anyway?

Your ironclad trust in Harry Reid's word, while quite touching, is yet another irony here.

... though it does seem to fit right in with your belief in unicorns and pixies. :-) Merry Christmas

We’ll agree to disagree. One thing for certain is I am an idiot for using the word liar (I get so mad a liberals for name calling in the midst of a civil discussion). I apologize again and may you have a very merry Christmas!

OK, we'll agree to disagree.

And sorry I used the "two wrongs make a right" rule to answer your "Liar" with "fool" :-)

BTW, a Wash. Times article last night had this to say: "Much of the last week’s fighting in the Senate has dealt with timing of votes rather than the substance of the issues. Republicans are trying to use the few days left in the year to prevent Democrats from installing several dozen nominations before Republicans take control. By coming in Saturday, Mr. Reid was given an extra two days." And this: "Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson issued a statement thanking Mr. Cruz for helping them speed up a number of nominations." ... anyway, just FYI.

BC, I couldn't help but notice you're a newbie to FR (relatively speaking).

If you need any tips from an old-timer (relatively speaking) like myself, just ask.

I joined on 11/9/2000. And I can't help but notice that by the time you very belatedly got around to jumping on the bandwagon, it was long, long after I had joined - 18720 minutes to be exact. (And I won't embarrass you further by computing the number of seconds of your juniority to me. :-) )

It just dawned on me that there aren't likely a large number of people in this world who spend time thinking about the fact that 18720 minutes equates to 13/14ths of a fortnight.

And that perhaps there are fewer still who would even care. Therefore I am now "taking offline" this conversation I am having with myself. Over & Out.
