Dexcool works well for what it was designed to do... save GM money with a cheaper coolant... it gets dangerous (to plastics) when it ages... I think that it’s more likely that GM is protecting itself legally by adding coolant changes at regular (shorter) intervals to the maintenance schedule.
Spray in or plastic bedliner, either way the POS chevy will have a bed full of water that don’t drain out, even going down the road.
I hit a deer last year with my 1996 Dodge diesel 4x4 pickup...it cost me $300 to straighten the front bumper, end of story. It has been a good vehicle for many years.
And the deer?
FWIW the drain and refill interval is longer on my 2014 Chev vs 2004 Caddy.
150,000 miles vs 100,000 miles
The deer was dead, hit her dead center with the front of the truck...since the truck sits up pretty high, the deer went under it. Now, every time I drive by that piece of road, I slow down some and keep my eyes open, especially in the evening or early AM.
