“Not so much impose as to encourage and enable. There will always be sin and sinners.”
****************
You are right. I chose poorly when I used the word ‘impose’ but I hope you know what I meant to imply.
Yes, religiously speaking, we have all sinned and are all sinners. We are but filthy rags in HIS eyes. But we have a redeemer who has told us we are to turn away from sin and sin no more. Yet as a nation and people, if we do nothing and allow our nation to continue condoning sin, our nation will not be blessed by G_D. So what do we do?
This country was NOT founded on the separation of church and state but on the freedom to practice our religion. It is our duty to encourage and enable the sinner by electing godly men and passing godly laws which discourage sin.
Many sins are condoned by current legislation and judicial interpretation. Abortion, same-sex marriage, homosexuality, etc. are all an abomination imposed upon US rather than the sinner. By changing these heathen laws, we cannot avoid imposing on the sinner. Therefore, let us impose on the sinner, so let it be written so let it be done. In that sense I have served my master, not the sinner’s.
Lastly, I will always pray for the sinner because I was lost before HE found me. Jesus will find his lost sheep. In the meantime, if I see a lost sheep I’ll direct him to the SHEPARD. And, if I see sinful men of authority and laws I’ll vote to change them.
Just my opinion, your mileage may vary...
