I would vote for a Libertarian, Republican or Democrat antiwar candidate for national office. There are just so few of them.
Thanks for posting this. In the long drawn out saga that is the Obamacare mess Snowe’s key vote is often forgotten. She is the reason that this expensive monstrosity is the law of the land. Rinos who vote with the democrats when it really matters are really just wolves in sheep clothing deceiving good people who think that they are really better than the dems.
That being said, I live in South Dakota and will vote for Rounds so that the democrat doesn’t win. All candidates support amnesty anyway so what’s a girl to do. Reid needs to go and we need the Senate.
I will never however hold my nose again for POTUS. The list of people that I will vote for is VERY small and is led ( so far) by Cruz. Christie, Rubio, Jeb and god forbid Romney will not get my vote. I will write in Mark Levin.
I have never skipped an election entirely in 45 years and I don't intend to start now. I might skip a race on the ballot entirely in rare cases to express my strong disapproval of a candidate running on the Republican ticket (for example, John Cornyn), but not showing up at the polls is not an option in these perilous times.
The Democrat Party has become so destructive and corrupt in our nation that anyone who still chooses to run under that tainted banner is Obama in my eyes.
SO whats the deal PAR, does it upset you that someone noticed the future majority leader of the Senate promised to assist the Democrats again? Is that why I need to ‘go back to KOS?” Because you want everyone blind to the GOP’s actions?
I get your point.
What Cornyn notices or does not notice is totally irrelevant until Harry Reid is gone.
If the Democrats get their their asses handed to them as badly as we now have the potential to do with a historic spanking , a LOT of politicians from both sides of the aisle will get multiple messages sent to them loud and clear in the only language they understand and care about voters - clean up your act or you are the next to be kicked out.
That's the message that needs to be sent to both Democrats and Republicans and the more overwhelming the vote turn out to reinforce the message the better.
Axelrod? You can take your Axelrod and shove it where the sun don’t shine. Republicans have NO ONE but themselves to blame for not being trusted by conservatives.
And thats the reality that sends them into a Dem plantation screaming frenzy.
When voting for the Republican left, it is necessary to take a “My leftist is better than your leftist” attitude towards Democrats, and most of the time you will be right, but undoubtedly there will be times when your leftist piece of crap will make your blood boil.
Whom does the Republican left have who will work as hard to destroy his Democrat opponents as he does to destroy conservatives? That’s the question the sleazebags on the Republican left need to answer before throwing their garbage our way.
When is the last time you heard the Republican left get a lecture about voting for a conservative should one beat them in the primaries? That’s the lecture I’m looking forward to hearing. Will the hacks and pundits do their jobs to stir up the Republican left to vote for Cruz?
LOL!! Gotta admit you sound just like a dem operative. Lots of complaints but super lite on solutions.
“So was Reagan right or wrong.”
Well, he took the following philosophy of the Big Tent forward and won a landslide victory for the Republicans that tilted the board toward right of center for a generation.
“Fortunately for those millions of concerned citizens, we too had paused to take inventory. We discovered we could no longer afford the luxury of internal fighting, backbiting and throat-cutting. We discovered our philosophical difference with those presently in power was greater than any grudge or split within our own ranks. Were ready and in position to offer an alternative for those concerned citizens who wanted to join with others, not to win a contest, but to preserve a way of life.
We must keep the door open offering our party as the only practical answer for those who, overall, are individualists. And because this is the great common denominator this dedication to the belief in mans aspirations as an individual we cannot offer them a narrow sectarian party in which all must swear allegiance to prescribed commandments.
Such a party can be highly disciplined, but it does not win elections. This kind of party soon disappears in a blaze of glorious defeat, and it never puts into practice its basic tenets, no matter how noble they may be.
The Republican Party, both in this state and nationally, is a broad party. There is room in our tent for many views; indeed, the divergence of views is one of our strengths. Let no one, however, interpret this to mean compromise of basic philosophy or that we will be all things to all people for political expediency.
In our tent will be found those who believe that government was created by We, the People; that government exists for the convenience of the people and we can give to government no power we do not possess as individuals; that the citizen does not earn to support the government, but supports a government so that he may be free to earn; that, because there can be no freedom without law and order, every act of government must be approved if it makes freedom more secure and disapproved if it offers security instead of freedom.
Within our tent, there will be many arguments and divisions over approach and method and even those we choose to implement our philosophy. Seldom, if ever, will we raise a cheer signifying unanimous approval of the decisions reached. But if our philosophy is to prevail, we must at least pledge unified support of the ultimate decision. Unity does not require unanimity of thought.
And here is the challenge to you. It is the duty and responsibility of the volunteer Republican organizations, not to further divide, but to lead the way to unity. It is not your duty, responsibility of privilege to tear down, or attempt to destroy, others in the tent. As duly chartered Republican organizations, we can all advance our particular sectarianism or brand of candidates for the party to pass on openly and freely in a primary election.
But, as volunteer organizations, we must always remain in a position that will let us effectively support the candidates chosen by the entire party in a primary. To do less is a disservice to the party and, more importantly, to the cause in which we all believe.”
As long as you are alive you are a potential voter.
Choosing to vote - or NOT to vote - is a decision that affects the final outcome - the count.
Would you agree that one can’t claim to have helped a given candidate to win - if one doesn’t vote - or at least help get out the vote for that candidate?
And yet, what I see here is the opposite; not only are you NOT voting - except for the “pure-bloods” - you are encouraging others not to vote.
This affects the count - who wins (governs) - no?
“You left out Mississippi, where the GOP candidate called supporters of his conservative opponent racists and Klansmen and where the Democrat candidate is a conservative.”
You forgot to mention these ads were placed on black radio stations and the ads were paid for by the Republican National Senatorial Committee. Technically as a contributor, now former, to the NRSC, thet attacked me and my preffered candidate with my money.
The country will go to hell either way. Which is better the way that gets us there quickly or a long drawn out affair.
When things go badly under democratic /socialist policies with the likes of Bernie Sanders in charge the government reliant slaves have nobody else to blame for their misery. When Rinos are in charge the sheep can easily point to those nasty right wingers ( even though truthfully they are only beholden to their lobbyist masters not the people who elect them)
The quicker we collapse the quicker we can rebuild...something to consider.
After reading through this entire thread, I’m dismayed that so many of the self-righteous who helped give us two terms of Obama are still making the same tired “no vote” argument.
I am encouraging people to stand by their words here every day and support conservatives. Thats why FR exists. It is not here to bandwagon RINOs to “WIN!!!!”
The purist thing is lazy. Get a new excuse that shows you put effort into slagging conservatism.
Couldn't agree more. Many people will read the headline, not continue reading and that will be all the confirmation they need to just stay home. This article does just the opposite of it's apparent intent.
Poorly written to say the least
Earn my vote, Derek Hunter. I dare you.
My vote goes to the most conservative candidate. All the time. If there isn’t one, the slot is left blank.
If you want that vote, nominate conservatives. It’s really quite simple.
So, Derek Hunter, will the beatings of conservatives continue until morale improves?
And forget the “any vote that doesn’t surrender to Karl Rove is a vote for Harry Reid” BS. My vote is always FOR who I vote FOR, as is everyone else’s.
Next.
So in short, no, Reagan was not wrong. RINOS had to adapt to him, he did not adapt to them.
