This ‘acting White BS’ been going on for a long time and it basically has resulted in the ‘Black Community’, in general, being more like a Third World Country.
Its ‘citizens’ - for the most part - are VERY RICH or VERY POOR, with the people in between supporting the ‘Top Echelon’ and propping up the ‘Lower Echelon’.
Much like the ‘White’ Community although there really isn’t a cranked in atmosphere in the White Community that one will NEVER make it.
The Government, in its erring ways, decided to boost up the lower side with benefits - hence the ‘Great Society’ was born.
The results were very long lasting and we will probably NEVER completely overcome it since we have 3rd and 4th generations of Welfare Recipients breeding future Welfare Recipients - I don’t think ‘they’ look at #s, they are just looking to the ‘rewards’ of pumping out more dependents.
Then you have these neglected children, often raised with no adult supervision and it being pounded in them that ALL men are SOB’s and White Men are SOB’s and Devils.
In the early 70’s we had an Asphalt Plant on the ‘edge’ of a what would probably be called a ‘Working Class’ Black Community in S Arlington VA.
Many a night I, or someone like me, may ‘fall asleep’ at the gate or on one of the side streets near the plant and ‘take a nap’ after a hard night of solving the worlds problems at the local beer joint.
NEVER had anyone bother me, on occasion I may wake up and have a cup of coffee on the hood OR in the truck - Nobody would bother us because MOST of the Males in the community worked at the Asphalt Plant or the Local Concrete Plant.
They served all capacities from laborers to truck drivers and yes, we had Black Foremen and Black Ladies in the Office - BECAUSE they earned the job and title -
BUT ‘we’ had a pass - so to speak.
The neighborhood - last I have seen though it is becoming ‘yuppyfied’ - is really not one that you would be driving through at night - especially if someone thought you may have something of value.....
