A health care worker at the hospital said that Dr. Spencer seemed very sick and it was unclear to the medical staff why he had not gone to the hospital earlier, since his fever was high, at 103.it emerged that he traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley and then took a taxi home.

“Why arent doctors who return to US from treating Ebola victims quarantined for at least 21 days?”
Because that would hurt the West African economy and make us look like a bunch of racists. Don’t you listen to gubmint spokespeople? /s

IF he lives (and the girlfriend lives, probably for both given early diagnosis), the girlfriend will then kill him. Because ALL of their worldly goods are now going to be incinerated. All her clothes, shoes, books, electronics, jewelry gifts from grandmother, etc.
Everything.
Shows contempt for her by returning to their apartment. She should dump him, assuming they both make it.

“doctor in New York City who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea”
Sorry; but why did a doctor not know better and isolate himself?

How does a doctor, recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea, not take responsible actions for himself? He’s out all over the town, in the subways.
Mind blowing.

Sorry; but why did a doctor not know better and isolate himself? It's all good; he checked with the CDC first...

Yes, really that should be a given.
Don’t know the time line here, but the guy felt good enough to go bowling last night, today he was sick as a dog with a 103 degree fever, which is super high esp. for an adult.
Now, what would they be telling us, that he only became contagious today? Does that make sense?
Science loving freepers, chime in.
