“What is the percentage death rate after eating a burger or smoking a cigarette?
What is it after contracting Ebola?”
Percentage of death from Ebola? 70% in Africa, probably somewhat lower here but still very dangerous obviously. Percentage death from smoking a cigarette? 0%. Percentage of death from lung cancer? Depends on cancer but super high, even with all modern medicine can do, once its it more than one spot its usually a death sentence. But we are talking 0 Americans dead from Ebola (1 foreigner 2 infected) versus hundreds of thousands with lung cancer.
This is a fake scare unless you live in Africa in which case I am sorry.
This "fake end time plague" will further all other objectives by proxy/
Go with it.
And Stewart is an expert in..................anybody? Why people listen to someone who is nothing without writers, make up and hard to believe, people dumber than him.
Yes, put your life in the hands of a stand-up comic.
Trying to make fun of people who are concerned about where this could head isn’t funny. It’s ignorant.
Compared to the CDC and the White House, who isn't an expert?
70% in Africa, probably somewhat lower here but still very dangerous
Those that survive are not home free either, they have life altering chronic problems.
Good point! They got a nutso “judge” in Dallas who is an “expert” too. Everybody wants to be an Ebola “expert”. Must be one of those “smart” phone things.
I don’t smoke cigarettes but I’ll take those odds over smoking an Ebola joint.
Your argument makes no sense. Might as well compare skydiving to Ebola.
Ebola is a virus that has been regarded as practically a bioweapon in the wild for decades, and yet when we have the first domestic outbreak causing great expense, dislocation and exposure of US citizens, as well as quite a number under observation or quarantine due to exposure to this rapidly fatal virus, the left goes into their patented snide, mocking denial mode because it happened under a Democrat administration.
And, we’re supposed to think they’re the smart ones?
Sure, the media turn every thing into a ‘crisis’ for advertising purposes.
But it doesn’t mean there isn’t real cause for concern.
And notice it isn’t the media Jon is ridiculing. It is those with with honest and intelligent concerns.
The countries that REALLY need to dread the arrival of Ebola are China and India, where a high population density and poor sanitary conditions (by First World standards) could cause runaway Ebola epidemics in both countries.
The friends I have that are the loudest about shutting down flights are liberal blacks. Never before have I seen the Dem leadership so disconnected from the base.
IBTZ
I’m most concerned with the virus getting into native animal populations- bats (a suspected vector in Africa), squirrels, rats, possums.
We’d never be free of it then.
Why does the CDC want everyone on the Frontier flight to contact them? This disease poses no threat unless bodily fluids are exchanged.
I do believe this is the current position of the CDC. Correct me if I’m wrong.
There are honest and intelligent concerns which are perfectly valid (clearly the hospitals isolation protocol is no good) but the 24 hour news-cycle has amplified one dead foreigner and two sick nurses into the black death, which this is not. I view ISIS, Putin, our own Supreme Court, hell, even the yearly flu as a much more pressing danger to America and myself than Ebola.
That's what CDC and the White Ht will not talk about.
Is Eboli now endemic to the USA because of a single decision by a single person?
What about the sewer rats in Dallas, the bats in San Antonio and the Coyotes at the local dump?
Fleas, ned bugs and mosquitos?
They don't know because they have not employed the rigor to know.
They haven't looked and are betting with your life that they'll get lucky.
