The ban on blood is there for a reason, HIV. The ban is not just for homosexuals it is for all “high risk” individuals. This includes people who use drugs with needles and swingers. The ban is lifetime. This is probably because it is thought that people that have engaged in those behaviors in the past may do so again. Why take the risk? Why put totally innocent people at risk who are in no position to say no?
Not surprised that Baldwin is on the other side; total activist whack job. This is the problem with our primary system. We had a number of good conservatives running for that seat and it was a tough decision. I finally got a Hovdy (sorry for the spelling) a week before the election then voted for Fitzgerald election day. Since the conservative vote was split the more establishment candidate (Thompson) won. There there was a problem with him not being able to accept money for the general election until after the convention. This allowed Baldwin to attack without any response back because he was broke.

The morons that elected Tammy Baldwin (author of the request) are beyond salvage. Granting that, I’m sure there are a lot of sane and reasonable people, Democrats, Republicans, etc. that that are probably not aware this insanity flourishes in the Democrat party.
I sure hope someone in Wisconsin lit a fire to turn the heat up on Tammy Baldwin and will put the burners on high next election cycle. She needs to be the focus of what is wrong with the Democrat party, unless of course, some other bone-head leaps forward to volunteer with something even more outrageous.
