the family will ask the U.S. attorney’s office to oversee the inquiry.......”We want a set of independent eyes that can take an unbiased look,” Wright’s father said.
Correction.....This is the mother of Crawfords kids...not his mother...
There were two instances where he said the guy with the gun was pointing......one he said he was pointing the gun ‘at people’...the other ‘children’....don’t blame me for what he said or didn’t ansell....that’s what the video tells.
He did not say Crawford was ‘threatening’ other customers.
The fact is no matter which way this plays out in court, if it goes there....the guys dead and certainly had no clue how to handle firearms, nor did he care.
Now I see where you're coming from.
Yawn. Irrelevant.
I’ll put you down for “C”.
Thanks
He has since recanted.
In some knockout videos you see the perps on their phone I suppose to make people
think they're distracted and not posing an immediate threat. Just an observation.
"The caller was right saying the guy with the gun was pointing it at People"
"He was swinging the gun around as kids walked by."
No, wrong, he never pointed at kids, nor at anyone else according to the caller after he looked at the video.
Why are so hysterical and committed to selling your hysteria to everyone else?
All the posters here crying Police Brutality are very sadly mistaken
and should be viewed as complete fools.
You're conclusions are wrong and cannot be backed up to prove any caller
was wrong about this crazy mans actions. Period.
He was raising and lowering the weapon, he was pointing it at people whether
he meant to or not. He was being irresponsible for the safety of others
in handling that FIREARM. BB or not, it's a FIREARM, and it looks like a serious weapon.
Could you please point to where he recanted and what was said?
Clarification would be helpful to back your statement up..
The term firearm is defined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Section 921(a)(3), to include (A) any weapon (including a starter gun), which will, or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive; (B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon
. Based on Section 921(a)(3), air guns, because they use compressed air and not an explosive to expel a projectile, do not constitute firearms under Federal law unless they are manufactured with the frames or receivers of an actual firearm. Accordingly, the domestic sale and possession of air guns is normally unregulated under the Federal firearms laws enforced by ATF. We caution that ATF is not charged with enforcement or oversight of the firearms laws of States or localities. To determine possible restrictions on air guns where you reside, we recommend that you contact the office of your state Attorney General, the State Police, or other State/local law enforcement authorities for further guidance.
Good post. Of course the NAACP will elevate the dummy to Sainthood.
Robbing a bank with a pellet gun isn't any less a crime as robbing a bank with a 5.56.
Pointing a BB gun or any gun at anybody at any time is considered assault, a crime.
In those terms it is prosecuted as a Firearm, toy or not.
Now, pointing a stick isn't a crime. Maybe the nutjob in Walmart should've
picked up a broom handle instead.
Neither you nor I know what he was thinking but what he DID was incredibly stupid.
In the video we have, he doesn’t point the BB gun at people in the store.....where they sell the BB gun.
Richie says he never pointed the BB gun at people (after he recanted)...... in the store where they sell the BB gun.
You decide to conclude that not only did he point the gun at people but that he needed to be killed.
Well there you are, another senseless killing.
I don’t know—I try to stay out of Walmart. Yes, it was stupid, but not criminal. Damn shame any way.
I agree with you, I do not fault the Police here. I am sure after finding out it was a toy gun and watching the video the Officer who shot the man feels bad. We all can Monday morning quarterback all we want; but the bottom line is the Police thought they were going into an extremely dangerous situation and acted appropriately. You don’t get a second chance if this was a real assault rifle and a lunatic handling it.
