I asked one of our resident Ebola ‘Experts’ this exact question what happens when the medical system becomes overwhelmed.
A infection rate of .5% of a population of 300,000,000 million is a little over 1,500,000. How long would the medical system last under such?
They didn’t have any snappy answer.

how would you quarantine 1.5 million people who might not be in the same geographical area? Almost impossible.
