I know that in my lifetime, it was the policy of both Catholics and Protestants that it was morally wrong to attend services - except, perhaps, for funerals - in one another’s sanctuaries, and to force such attendance would be a violation of religious conscience.
I hope he files a civil rights action against the dept. I think ‘we the people” would smell this BS out and award him plenty.
