What was he supposed to do? Start singing “Kumbaya” and “We Are the World”? He stuck to his guns. That’s what counts. Those morons were completely disrespectful.

Well this writer’s country did actually take in the largest number of Iraqi Christians. They have earned the right to speak to the issue. God I hate the French though.

No Comment Yet on Why Obama Held Meeting on 9/11 With Terrorist-Supporting Cleric ijreview ^ | September 13, 2014 | Victoria Taft

Posted on 9/12/2014, 10:14:33 PM by Hojczyk

President Obama held an Oval Office meeting with Middle Eastern-based Arab Christians on 9/11, one member of whom is a loud and proud supporter of the terrorist group Hezbollah.

The day before, members of the same group, holding a conference under the name In Defense of Christians, booed and shouted down keynote speaker Senator Ted Cruz

”It’s surprising White House staffers allowed Maronite Patriarch Bashara Rai to meet with the President in the first place. As the Washington Free Beacon reports, the Lebanon-based Hezbollah supporting cleric isn’t shy about his views.

.....just taking orders from Obama...

TC knew exactly what he was doing to flush out the conference funders, religious leader allies, and supporters of Hezbollah at the event.

Well done, sir!.

Um, Mark Udall saying the journalists who got beheaded wouldn’t want us to be rash in Iraq strikes me as more shameless, and that’s just within the week.

I’m ambivalent

Many Freepers....most actually....95% think the Israeli partition post WWII was perfect and no one should complain

Likewise few here realize that several of the early leaders of Fatah...PLO....Palestinian fighters and yes...terrorists...no question....were not Muslim Arabs but rather Catholic and Eastern Orthodox ...and Reds too BTW

Its not quite as neat and clean as Freepers customarily like their issues to be defined

I’m puzzled what Cruz was aiming for.....

The Christian population is about 40% of its original makeup of Israel since 1947-48 following the exodus or displacement of many

I actually know several who lived through all that....while they are obviously anti Jihad ....they are likewise not keen on being preached to by Cruz

Again....what was his purpose?

Its complicated....

Again, they are in America now, a land of Judeo-Christian values and they must accept those or go home. Or go to Israel - they treat Christians ok.

Now, I am no Ted Cruz antagonist. I am a supporter of the Tea Party

And maybe Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry got his info secondhand and didn't bother to read the transcript, or maybe he doesn't like Jews, anyway.

Another great read.

“The Middle East’s Friendless Christians”

“WHEN the long, grim history of Christianity’s disappearance from the Middle East is written, Ted Cruz’s performance last week at a conference organized to highlight the persecution of his co-religionists will merit at most a footnote. But sometimes a footnote can help illuminate a tragedy’s unhappy whole.”

“The fact that he was widely lauded says a lot about why, if 2,000 years of Christian history in the Middle East ends in blood and ash and exile, the American right no less than the left and center will deserve a share of responsibility for that fate.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/14/opinion/sunday/ross-douthat-the-middle-easts-friendless-christians.html

Neither the left nor right in the U.S. (as a vast whole) gives a damn if every last Christian in the birthplace of Christianity is exterminated.
