Confirmed case.
IN countries like that, I imagine the actual death toll from Ebola is actually far higher. They’re only reporting what was confirmed. How many people die and are buried, or not, out where there are no medical services to confirm?
Senegal is a very strangely shaped country, unless I am thinking of something else

Enough that the death toll would be shockingly higher if these cases were reported in the WHO totals.
That’s what I believe.
I think the reported cases are just the tip of the iceberg.
I think it’s far worse and either they really don’t know, or they do and do not want to report it for fear of spreading panic.
Thanks for the ping!
Youre Welcome, Alamo-Girl!
Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
