Non-interventionists will be attack for all sorts of reasons to keep them off any ballot. Preventing a choice between an intervention and non-intervention candidate will be pushed tooth and nail.

Rather than interventionist vs non interventionist, we should support candidates who support America’s interests abroad and at home and now how to implement such goals.

I was actually considering him a year ago.

I think I dropped my support for this fraud more than a year ago but I have to admit, he had me hoodwinked for awhile.

Don’t need a Runt Paul, or any Libtardian for that matter.

They will have to find a conservative.

I used to like him, oh well.
Could probably agree with him on some issues, militarization of the police is one.
'Anchor babies' another.

To those of us who know his father well, none of this should be a shock. The Paul family is bat-#hit crazy.

...willing to make a few compromises in order to effect real change?

Reagan's two landslides mean nothing to you or the RINOs running the GOP?

The fact is, the GOP has been doing EXACTLY what you advice, and look where it has gotten this country. I don't think you know what we are up against. We are in the middle of getting our political beliefs outlawed...that's right, outlawed, and you want to compromise?

The operative word in the title is “should”. It should sink him, but in reality, it may not. If he is seen as the leading “moderate” GOP candidate, we know that the media will pull all the stops to get him nominated. If another, more established moderate doesn’t run, then the GOP establishment will probably back him too. We know from experience that can be enough to put someone over the top.

Luckily, there are only a couple dutchbags left on FR who still support Rand Paul, which is one of the many reasons I love this place.

I can’t foresee a scenario where the GOP establishment would ever really back Rand Paul, but stranger things have happened...
