I heard about this pathetic idea to get rid of the name “Ole Miss” via Facebook the other day. My lifelong friend and her husband live in Oxford now, and they are not happy at all about this.
I only tease about the Black Bear name. Lol. I hope no one gets the idea that the name “Crimson Tide” comes from an old hymn. Heh
It is good to see you still have a “way with words”
I still remember the day I caught my first “crappie”. I was about 15 fishing in North Alabama. My friend had really built them up I really thought I was going to see something special when I pulled a white perch out of the water.
I’m surprised National Review wasn’t agreeing with the PC crowd. Were Lowry and Goldberg asleep?
Spot on excellent post.
Did they do away with Colonel Reb?
“some university faculty, are uncomfortable with it.”
Let them carry their happy @$$%$’$ up the road to a place where they are comfortable. They apparently don’t care about anyone else’s comfort.
Officially they did. You will still see him tail gating.
It is now, and always will be, Ole Miss Rebels.
That bear is an abomination.
“Literary carpetbaggers”
I love it! Worthy of Faulkner, himself.
Rush all over it
I heard it, and it was so good to hear his take on it.

Just ignore the stupid memo and keep saying Ole Miss.
It’s time to get some real Mississippians back in charge of the U of M. This group of “leaders” needs to be replaced!
How can the alumni put up with this stuff?
