Perhaps my years as part of NATO under Reagan and my knowledge of the evil of Russia helped me to see this for what it is.
I have no desire to sacrifice countries to Putin and disagree with your alliance to him, but luckily for you, you have Obama in charge.
Amen.
And you have no way to stop him, so why insanely push his buttons ? Only an idiot backs a bear into a corner.
The bombing was not working. They had to have boots on the ground to remove Ghaddafi. And Obama and the Euroweenies could only deliver terrorists boots on the ground. That is why Ghadaffi was run down like a dog in the street.
They needed cover ?
No there were supposed to help remove Assad from power. And then they got out of control.
They are probing. Looking for a weakness to exploit. They are over 30 million Ukrainians and over 5 million Russians in that country. Very difficult situation for all involved.
Could be. But I still think that their involvement is “politics by other means.” In other words, they would accept a federated Ukraine, which will only happen if the separatist movement has some degree of success. And the reason I think that they aren’t looking to invade is that an invasion would become such a quagmire for them, and wouldn’t provide much additional benefit. Such a decision would seem to run counter to everything else they are doing (economically, domestically, and in terms of their relationship with China), and would be all risk/no reward.
They probably are concerned with the 5 million Russians still living in the Ukraine. One solution would be to split the east away and have a Russian enclave there. Similar to the new autonomous Kurdish area of Iraq. They are probing to see if that is possible and where the borders would end up. The Crimea was all about their naval port. Have no idea what the best solution would be, but the federated state in Iraq did not last long without a tyrant as the leader. And it would be the ultimate quagmire for the Russians. One they would rather avoid by utilizing tactical nukes to level cities. That is what a WWIII situation would bring.
“400 commercial aircraft flew through that region of Ukraine that day, including a Singapore airlines flight 15 minutes earlier. It was cleared by the international regulators. Malaysian Airlines wasn’t some kind of outlier. It just drew the short straw.”
I agree. Perhaps it’s time to re-assess the “safety-in-numbers” approach to flying over active combat zones.
“The “active combat zone” was not at 33k feet and there was no danger in flying over the area at that altitude until the rebels acquired Buk Missiles.”
Trying to thread the needle when it comes to threats in an active war zone is quite risky even for combatants (their mortars were only supposed to reach 6km, why are they reaching us here at 7km? - maybe they got upgraded hardware?), and it’s IDIOTIC to try that stunt with, I guess, THOUSANDS of innocent passengers every day. So hopefully they all learn a lesson here.
yet another reason libretardians will never be taken seriously. Trying to draw a false moral equivalency where none exists and blame the US for something someone else did in a far off land.
Sounds more and more like Obama every time he opens his mouth and working to become the yoke around his son’s neck.
Bammy would have waited a few days while trying to concoct a story that kept him out of it - just long enough for him to 'hear about it on the news".
Putin is a despot who is building this nation's hegemony and stature. Bammy is a cretin/tyrant who is serving this once great nation up on a serving plate, pre-sliced and diced, for those like Putin to take advantage of.
“Actually we don’t send weapons to Syria. Saudi Arabia and Qatar do, but the USA doesn’t.”
If they’re US WEAPONS and are being delivered to THIRD COUNTRIES, and we do nothing about it (like cut off arms sales to Saudi and Gutter), then WE ARE DELIVERING those arms to terrorists and it is NO DIFFERENT than Putin.
Rand has a point here. I still HATE THE GUY, because of his domestic priorities (wanting felons to vote, for example), but he is right here.
WE.. Kimosabe Kirell??
WE do..
idiot.
I hope he enjoys the Damascus steel that will slit him like a pig when he visits Pakistan ala Daniel Pearl.
Your smarmy desperation sure comes through in your posts.
“Your smarmy desperation sure comes through in your posts.”
Actually, I prefer to call it skepticism...I’ve agree with more of Putin’s policies than with our own president’s.
Thanks for admitting that you are in Russia’s corner on Putin’s agenda, and against the free world and NATO and the U.S.
Someone should modify that pic with McCain holding hands with that terrorist.
