It sounds like religiously you align with the left.

Most anti-Christian voters are lefties.

Just for the record the group that is doing ‘work’ in Texas and other places is not associated with any Baptist anything. I think someone must have googled a transposed set of letters and came up with that. This looks like a community organizer type of effort. There is no indication of a faith based relationship at all. It appears to be funded almost exclusively by government grants.

This is NOT the Baptist Family and Children’s Services.

“Our team consists of medical and mental health experts, disability policy and rights advocates, former fire and police leaders, national emergency planning and training experts, legal professionals, academicians, research and policy professionals, and public health veterans. It also includes former department leaders from FEMA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.”

From their own web site. Hardly a faith based organization

I don’t know what an “anti-Christian” voter is. I assume you mean people who vote against Christian values. I know many people who truly believe themselves to be and say they are Christians who vote democrat every time. I have nothing to do with them.

I agree that most “anti-Christians” vote liberal. They go to the polls with the Christians and atheists and always vote democrat and always curse republicans. But they don’t hang out with each other. They’re walking contradictions. But, hey, they’re liberals.

There are also atheists who vote conservative. Plenty are on this forum.

I know there are all types who vote all different ways. But what I was talking about was the organized religions. I think they’re frauds.

What nonsense, very few atheists vote republican, and very few Southern Baptists vote democrat.

The base of conservatism is practicing Christians.

Assuming you vote republican while being anti-Christian, you are a rare voter, the overwhelming percentage of you are lefties.

First of all, quite a few atheists vote republican and that is a fact. Bottom line is people of all religious beliefs vote both parties.

Second, apparently you know very few Southern Baptists. I’ve known a lot of them over the years and I’d venture to say half of them vote for democrats because half of them don’t pay attention. Let me tell you about a family of relatives of mine. The couple and both adult children and their spouses vote democrat and they’re all Baptists. One of the woman’s brothers is an atheist who’s married to a Baptist and they both vote democrat. The other brother is non demoninational Christian and he votes conservative.

I have siblings who are Baptist and voted democrat their whole lives. Only in 2007 did they really start paying attention and started voting conservative.

And third, what makes you assume I’m anti Christian? And what do you mean the overwhelming percentage of “you are lefties”? Who is “you”? If you’re saying the overwhelming percentage of anti Christians are lefties, I can agree with that statement.

But I’m not anti Christian. I AM anti organized religion. I don’t believe Heaven is going to be divided into denominational sections.

Your “facts” don’t jive with the facts.

Very few atheists vote republican, they are too tiny a group to get real numbers on and they are lumped together as atheists and agnostics, with about 23% of those voting GOP in 2008.

You claim to have been a Southern baptist, and they are the most republican of all, about an 80% GOP vote, for instance, 80% in 2008.

Anyone like you calling to forbid us practicing our Christian faith and meeting in our churches, IS anti-Christian, and you sure don’t know your voting facts and are willing to lie to besmirch Southern Baptists, the most anti-democrat voters in America, your are lying when you say they are only a 50/50 vote.

Liz, for years, we have been trying to drag into the sunlight how most of of our so called non profits pretending to help the down trodden are really huge money troughs for the left wing pigs getting their big salaries from the faux non profits.

This one may be the el supremo one.

“The Southern Baptist Convention should be screaming about how wrong this is and how they’re not affiliated with them. Why don’t they?”

The problem is once a conservative pastor/priest or lay member uses the pulpit or social media to condemn anything the rats do like this, the churches they belong to could lose their charitable tax free status.

During the Clintoon bad behavior, I was a senior warden and my conservative friends in other churches wanted our clergy/priests to say something from their pulpits specifically about Clintoon’s bad behavior. Or allow us to condemn the bad behavior in a meeting at our churches.

We were warned that once we did something like that in an official capacity at a church, that church could lose its non profit status.

A double standard has been in place re political talk in churches for decades. The pastors/priests in liberal controlled churches and black churches, can say any political thing and even have rats running for office deliver part of the sermon or lecture from their pulpits with no problem. If conservatives even tried to discuss our side of a political issue, we could endanger the non profit status of our churches.

Where in the hell did you get that I don’t want you to be able to practice your religion? Geez, learn to pay attention.

Then you call me a liar when I state my OPPINION. Show me the facts what percentage Baptists vote republican. You don’t know because there’s no way to know. I simply told you about 8 Baptists that I know personally and another I know who used to vote democrat but started watching Fox and opened their eyes. There are millions of Baptists whose eyes still have scales on them.

Now go away.

When you call for the end of the practice of Christianity by forbidding churches and trying to label them as the “anti-Christ”then you are calling for the end of Christians to practice their faith.

Quoted from you: “Over the years I’ve heard various theories about the anti Christ. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s not organized religion.”

“Sounds like they need a third religion like we need a third party.”

“I AM anti organized religion.”

Now here is a quote from Conservapedia:
“The GOP identification slipped a little in 2008, but about 80% of the Southern Baptists voted for McCain over Barack Obama.”

By the way, you claim to have been a Southern Baptist yourself, but you don’t seem to know them very well since you think they are a 50/50 vote, instead of being the MOST republican voters in America.

What do you mean I “claim to be” Southern Baptist? Are you calling me a liar? That sounds like something a good Southern Baptist would do.

By the way, when was the last time you heard a Southern Baptist leader condemn the liberal agenda? They don’t. Because they’re afraid they’ll lose their tax exempt status. Thus, they serve two masters....God and money. What do you think they’ll do when the government orders them to perform gay marriages? Or when the government orders them to stop saying “In Jesus’ name”? They’ll probably say “But we’ve played along and been good all these years. We’ve never fought you on any of it. Please don’t take our ‘Jesus’ away.” But it will be too late.

As far as I’m concerned, any religion, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, who takes money from the government is not a religion I will support. And any religion that is afraid to speak out against “Caesar” is denying Christ. Especially when “Caesar” is ording people to do things that go against the church’s teaching.

I won’t support a rino. Nor will I support ANY organization that supports rinos and democrats.

You are a liar, you are lying about the Southern Baptists and trying to portray them as liberal and voting 50% democrat.

The Southern Baptists are the most anti-democrat vote in America.

Just like the left, you dislike most those who are the most conservative voters.

“As for the Baptists, I’ll never set foot in another Baptist Church. (Or any other church) I know ALL Baptists aren’t involved but I haven’t heard any of the mega Baptist preachers condemning it either. I’ve been to several large Baptist Churches over the past few years. All of them with the SBC. Everyone of them had a huge room with Hispanics where the sermon was being interpreted. And I mean a huge room! I have to wonder if the American taxpayer didn’t build the facilities.”

Time to lay off the weed...

“By the way, when was the last time you heard a Southern Baptist leader condemn the liberal agenda?”

That would have been last Saturday, from my pastor at the Saturday Men’s meeting. I missed church on Sunday, so it couldn’t have been Sunday.

“In another finding, SBC pastors overwhelmingly favor Republican John McCain over his two Democratic rivals, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Eighty percent of SBC pastors plan to vote for McCain. Obama was supported by 1 percent of pastors, while Clinton gained 0 percent of pastors’ support...

...When asked whether they “believe that the media has overstated the threat of global warming,” 86 percent of SBC pastors responded in the affirmative...

...The study findings are based on surveys conducted by LifeWay Research in spring 2008. “
