Fundamentally, the problem is thatthe MSMwire service journalism, augmented by broadcasting has become dominant as a de facto monopolistic entity. Wire service journalism (primarily the AP, but if not them, someone else would do the same thing) aspired to objectivity, which - in the context of the fractious partisan nature of pre-AP reporting - seemed like an unimpeachable idea. But the devil is in the details - and people never fully reckoned with the possibility and implications of journalists coming actually to believe in their own objectivity. The trouble with a journalism which believes in its own objectivity is the same as the trouble with a faction which believes in its own wisdom. Once you know you are objective (or wise), you automatically stop doing the work of actually trying to be objective (or wise). The classical problem of the Sophists (literally, wise guys) of ancient Greece brought forth the the classical responders, the Philosophers (lovers of wisdom), who eschewed personal attacks and demanded that the subject of debate be restricted to facts and logic. The objective journalists of today must similarly be confronted with the fact that when they fail to consider the possibility that where they stand is influenced by where they sit, they automatically degrade into the rankest, most self-interested, partisanship.
The result is that journalists promote criticism over performance - and it is only natural that a political party would align itself unreservedly with the PR power which is journalism.

How will it shape up? How would I know?
What is clear is that most of us around here resonate with the words “give me liberty or give me death”.
Many of us are ready to die if we must in our refusal to submit to tyrany. Unfortunately it appears that the leftists are equally determined to subject us to their utopian vision.
So we may get a firsthand answer to the age old question of what will happen if an unmovable object encounters an irresistable force.
If history is a guide (and it usually is), a lot of suffering will follow.
I don’t know how or when it will escalate into war. It is even feasible that something could result in the citizens of the nation falling on their knees and crying out to God. If people truly repent and seek God, He can do all things. But so far it appears most will not do this, and God will do what He has done through history, and preserve a remnant who will follow His laws.
I believe the tyrants will pay for their crimes and be defeated, but not without a long and difficult struggle.
We have two things going for us: right is on our side, and incompetence is on theirs. When I see how ineffective and inefficient government employees are, it makes think that war will largely favor the conservatuve minority. If the TSA represents Obama’s idea of a standing domestic army he can sic on conservatives, I think he will be disappointed with the outcome.
“The GOPs weakness is only surpassed by its own stupidity.”
When you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.
“At least a lawsuit has to get media attention”
They’ll lie, as they always do, and we might end up the worse for the attention. Maybe better just to let that wad of offal keep self-destructing.
“And once again the right wing talking heads line up to take the one position ensuring Obama remains protected. Just like magic.”
Back when it was clear that the Klintstones had killed Vince Foster, or had him killed, William F. Buckley wrote in the National Review that it would be better for the Republic to let him get away with it than to expose the president as a murderer.
Didn’t agree then. Don’t now.
However, Chairman Maobama does seem to be self destructing all by himself, so maybe it would be better just to watch the show for a while.
How about impeaching after the R’s have the senate? then it can go somewhere.
