Copied and pasted below is a reply I received from BCFS when I inquired about the organization and their funding. I also questioned their lack of a statement of faith.
They use money from Baptists, they have a Baptist history, and they are a completely godless, global entity. The “B” in BCFS stands for Baptist. They were formerly called Baptist Child and Family Services.

Greetings,
Thank you for your interest in BCFS. In 1944, a group of San Antonio Baptist business, community and church leaders, like HEB founder Howard E. Butt, witnessed a great injustice taking place against the most vulnerable in our community: children. At the time, orphanages were segregated by race and, while there were homes for white and African American children, there was no place for Hispanic children who were not living with their parents for one reason or another. Answering the call of Matthew 25, the Christian leaders came together to care for the least of these by establishing the Baptist Childrens Home.
Throughout the years, our organization was known as many names. Most well-known among them was Baptist Child & Family Services. In the last five years, this name was changed yet again to BCFS, a result of our growing mission to serve populations beyond just children and families, to include adults, those who are aging, people with disabilities and more.
While significantly supported financially at the time of our founding by Baptist General Convention of Texas, and still to a lesser degree today, our organization is not the Baptist church. We are, however, guided by our strong Judeo-Christian foundation and believe that Christ-centered action is far more powerful than a religious label.
Today, BCFS is a global system of non-profit health and human service organizations operating programs throughout the U.S., Eastern Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa. As was true at our founding, our organization is constantly evolving to meet the unmet needs of at-risk populations. In partnership with government agencies, other non-profits, private corporations and community leaders throughout the nation, BCFS is continuously developing new programs and service models that combat challenges faced by children, families and communities that are struggling.
For 70 years, we have strived to build systems that make a lasting impact on those we serve.
