The parents are heartless greedy bastards. Send their kids on a treacherous journey where many will suffer and die, with the hopes that Obama will give them amnesty and then the kids can send for the parents to come to America where they can live off the taxpayers.
The governor of Texas is the chief executive of the state and is elected by the citizens every four years. The governor must be at least 30 years old and a resident of Texas for the five years immediately before the election.
The governor makes policy recommendations that lawmakers in both the state House and Senate chambers may sponsor and introduce as bills. The governor also appoints the Secretary of State, as well as members of boards and commissions who oversee the heads of state agencies and departments.
The constitutional and statutory duties of the Governor include:
La Raza Rickie? Please, he’s an open borders idiot.
How about the one that IS on the books: Every state may defend itself against invasion if the Feds won’t.
Perry has repeatedly advocated against a fence...
I’ve read of some cases where the children have departed against their parents’ will.
It wouldn’t be happening if Barack and friends hadn’t arranged for this to be advertised down in El Salvador and similar places. Come to the USA and get a bonanza! The responsibility for “Kidsgate” should be laid at their doorstep.
I would think Perry if he really wanted to stop or slow this invasion would have the Texas National Guard patrol known border crossings as a start and try to prevent further infiltration, flow of illegal immigrants.
The states already have constitutional authorization to do this. They don’t need a by-your-leave from Obama or any other Fed.
“I live near Green Bay and there’s a huge Hispanic population here. Do you really think illegals will just be concentrated in the Southwest? They’re flying into South Dakota, for crying out loud.”
They’re all over the NYC metro area (including north Jersey); I have honestly met them in Ontario.
They got Canada to take them?
Shoot, why not send them all to Canada then. North, north, north up to Nunavuk.....
Yep —
Where is Perry in all this???
Where are you people of Texas in all of this???
Are you going to let your governor hide behind his meaningless jargon while your state is used as a conduit to invade other???
“They got Canada to take them? Shoot, why not send them all to Canada then. North, north, north up to Nunavuk...’
No; I met them eight years ago working in Ontario illegally. For all their socialist nonsense, Canada actually attempts to protect their citizens’ jobs from this nonsense.
U.S. Const. art. I, § 10 No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.
U.S. Const. amend. X The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
All States retain the right to self defense. The Federal government has refused to provide for the common defense, the raison d'etre for the Federal government. The States must repel invasion or the people will.
And I was kidding about Nunavuk. I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy.
Maybe because Canada is so serious about its socialism, it knows the danger.
Put me in charge of the situation with unlimited resources along with immunity and I guarantee it will stop.
Well, they’ve been “actually invaded.”
I do not know what is so hard here.
We can not sit by and allow our country to be invaded while politicians dither and court each other.
LET’S ROLL!
It does have to happen under state authorization.
This is a “belling the cat” kind of problem. What timid governor and state legislature will first step up and give the Feds the bird over this issue?
That explains why he does nothing to defend his border.
