"Uh, weve tried a couple of times in history to incorporate Canada into the U.S. They said no thanks." Already done. The North American Union was signed back in 2005, covertly.

Already done. The North American Union was signed back in 2005, covertly. The North American Union (NAU) is a theoretical economic and political union of Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The concept is loosely based on the European Union, occasionally including a common currency called the Amero or the North American Dollar. A union of the North American continent, sometimes extending to Central and South America, has been the subject of academic concepts for over a century, as well as becoming a common trope in science fiction. One reason for the difficulty in realizing the concept is that individual developments in each region have failed to prioritize a larger union.
Some form of union has been discussed or proposed in academic, business, and political circles for decades.[1][2][3][4] However, government officials from all three nations say there are no plans to create a North American Union and that no agreement to do so has been signed.[5][6][7] The formation of a North American Union has been the subject of various conspiracy theories.[8][9][10][11]

I knew something stunk about Petraeus way back when he said de-baathification and disbanding Saddam's army were mistakes. There was no doubt at all that he was a rat when he supported the repeal of “don't ask, don't tell,” and said that Terry Jones threatening to burn the koran endangered the war effort. What a scumbag.

I guess that makes Petraeus a lone nut.

What used to be foilhat is not the real thing: ... "Foilhat" .... interesting new adjective. Genuine 21st-century colloquial coinage. Duly noted.
I thought FR had a rule against quoting/featuring Birchers?

.... Petraeus was similarly boasting about the ongoing merger in a piece entitled "Perfect Partners: North America's Shared Future" he authored with fellow fringe globalist and ex-World Bank President Robert Zoellick. Zoellick is hardly "fringe" .... in the 80's and 90's he had a rep as a foreign-policy heavy.

The larger question is why did the "Margaret Thatcher Conference on Liberty" choose to have a conference about "what comes after the United States" and why would Gen. Petraeus want to speak there. Here's another question: Why is a conference named for Margaret Thatcher and dedicated to the topic of liberty, being hijacked by men dedicated to enslaving the world?
