I don’t know how much baking soda goes for in Venezuela, but it makes a dandy substitute for shampoo. True, you won’t get that lather effect, but your hair will be clean and shiny. Gar-un-teed!

Sponge. Stick.
Hmmm...I’ll store that in my memory bank for future reference.

AND your scalp doesn’t itch! Yay for NaHCO3! (How does it work since it’s not a detergent?)

Having field tested a lot of what I suggest.....
I suggest that you buy all the TP that you can afford and have room for.
Then... consider the sponge and stick Roman method.

The cash-strapped government has been dealing with all sorts of scarcities Gee. How does this always happen in socialist countries? Huh. What a mystery.

Socialist Venezuela: home of hot, smelly chicks. Maybe the Bus Driver will die from a whiff of all that BO.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
I sincerely hope the George Washington of Venezuela arises soon.
These people deserve better.

It might actually be true, but the mighty, glorious socialists simply cannot get it out of the ground, because they’re not practicing real socialism. /sarc

Baking soda for toothpaste. I could live just fine with baking soda, bar soap, deodorant and tp.

I don’t do nail polish, either. It doesn’t last two minutes working in the garden and hand washing dishes.

I think I see the problem.

“cash-strapped government”
Here is an idea, allow the private sector to import and sell stuff for profit and reap the taxes from that.

Lavender and chamomile are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Somewhere I’ve got a book that listed several. No idea where that book went.

I don't do nail polish either, unless my grand-daughter wants me to paint her fingernails or toenails. I never could get a color that works for me in the dirt.
I'm ok with good old lye soap and cold water. Everything else... that's pretty vain.
My daughter may complain, but grumpy old man works for me. ;)

Corn starch can be dusted on and is a great deodorant. I brush my teeth with baking soda, not because I can't buy toothpaste but because it works better for me.

Soapwort root and aloe work pretty well for cleaning. They are naturally saponified.
