These people live off the government teat. So they want men like Cochran that will "bring home the bacon" i.e. graft payoffs.

McDaniel, elected to the state Senate in 2007, has said the federal government should have no role in education, not even in helping pay for it. That's my kind of Republican. That's my kind of conservative.
Republicans and [by definition] faux-conservatives who promote a role for federal government in education, defeat the purpose of voting Republican.
