No, fewer young people are exposed to the concept of service to and love of country than back when I was young. I generally have no way of knowing why they failed to serve, so I don’t judge them. I do appreciate the thanks.
It would be nice to know what side they’ll take in the soon-to-come 1776 replay, though. We’ll have to train some and eliminate others.
I can’t help but notice that all this “Thank you for your service” replaced men actually enlisting themselves.
Today we have a tiny military, but we have to take females to fill the ranks.
Politicians who avoid military service while being “conservative” really annoy me, Newt Gingrich was never military material with his pudgy nerdiness and flat feet and early family, but Rick Santorum, Pat Buchanan, Mitt Romney, they annoy me.
No but irks me when my wife doesn’t thank me for my service which is why I’m nicknamed Irkel.
They wouldn’t let me in. Something about a heart murmur and Reagan being President (i.e. they had plenty of officer candidates)
I say “Thank you for your service to every Veteran I meet.”
What irks me is hearing / seeing “Happy Memorial Day.”
I got an email from the NRA that said “Happy Memorial Day.”
They should know better.
Oh, and Thank you for your service.
I always thank vets for their service even tough I am a vet too. I’m sure many of them did way more than I did.
